  • Adeleke Mandates Contractors on Standard Road Construction

    Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has directed the contractors handling the dualisation of palace – brewery junction in Ilesa to ensure standard work and timely completion of the project.

    Governor Adeleke during an impromptu inspection of the project directed the contractor to speed up the work and deliver on time.

    “I am happy you are working continuously on the project but I task you to move faster. My good people of Ilesa are eager to start using this landmark road”, the Governor told the representatives.

    The project engineer who was surprised at the sudden visit of the governor explained the stages of the work done so far, assured that the road would have reached appreciable level by next month.

    He explained that the company is working according to standard and assured the project would not be delayed as it would be delivered on schedule.

  • Adeleke Relaxes Curfew in Ifon, Ilobu Communities

    Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has relaxed the hitherto 7 pm to 7 am curfew imposed on the Ifon and Ilobu communities in the state.

    The governor had on January 16, 2025, imposed a 7 pm to 7 am curfew on Ifon and Ilobu due to an outbreak of crisis between the communities, in occasioned by boundary disputes.

    But having observed a gradual return of peace in the communities, the governor on Sunday relaxed the curfew to 10 pm to 4 am with immediate effect.

    The governor’s decision is contained in a statement made available to journalists by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. Kolapo Alimi, on Sunday.

    Adeleke, who expressed satisfaction that peace was gradually returning to the affected communities, further said security agents would continue 24-hour surveillance in the two towns.

    “Accordingly, the Governor has directed that the initial 7pm to 7am curfew imposed on the two communities by his administration in the wake of the crisis on the 16th day of January 2025 be relaxed from the hitherto 12 hours to 6 hours daily, beginning from 10pm to 4am with effect from today, Sunday 2nd day of March 2025, until total peace is seen and noted to have been returned.

    “Furthermore, Mr Governor has directed the contingent of all security personnel, including the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to continue to maintain 24-hour surveillance in the warring communities.

    “All stakeholders in the communities are further advised to cooperate with the State Government to resolve the issues amicably,” the statement read partly.

    He urged indigenes of the two communities, including their traditional rulers and other interested stakeholders, to use the period of the ongoing holy month of Ramadan to pray for lasting peace and harmony.

    He also renewed his earlier appeal, warning that anyone or group of persons found or caught doing or masterminding any further breakdown of law and order to truncate the level of peace being gradually achieved in the two communities would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

  • ‘We will back you up’ – Olunisha of Inisha Tells Osun Government

    The Olunisha of Inisha Town in Odo-Otin Local Government Area , Osun State, Oba Joseph Fashiku has assured the state government of adequate support from him and his subjects towards the continuous development in the town and the state at large.

    Oba Fashiku gave the assurance when he led High Chiefs of the town on a courtesy visit to the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke at the Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo.

    The monarch noted that, less than two years of the present administration, Senator Adeleke has commenced the rehabilitation of roads in the town which had been abandoned by immediate past administration and other ongoing positive developments in across the state.

    Reacting on the recent defection of One of the People’s Democratic party, PDP, Party’s , Board of Trustees, BOT, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun to The All Progressives Party, APC, Oba Fashiku on behalf of his subjects disassociated themselves from the decision of Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun.

    Also Coroborating his view, One of the High Chiefs of Inisha, Aremo Kunle Alao who emphasized that, the town is solidly behind the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke beyond 2026, pleaded for more developmental interventions into the Town.

    In a remark, the Chairman, PDP , Osun State, Mr Sunday Bisi explained that the visit of the Olunisha and his chiefs to the state governor was significant and laudable.

    While describing a front-line politician who hails from Inisha Town, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun as a leader and father, the governor said the PDP would gladly receive Alhaji Oyedokun back whenever he decides to rescind his decision.

    Senator Adeleke reiterated that, his administration would continue to ensure infrastructural developments in all towns in the state irrespective political affiliation.

    The governor also used the occasion to assure residents of the state, that more teachers would be recruited, engaged in regular training to boost proficiency, and all dilapidated public schools would be renovated as part of measures to revamp the education sector.

    Also present at the event, Osun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Reverend Bunmi Jenyo, high chiefs from Inisha Town amongst other distinguished personalities.

  • Adeleke Appreciates Osun Residents

    Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has expressed appreciation to Osun people for their support for his administration in its quest to deliver on his five point agenda on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

    In a statement by Governor’s Spokesperson Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke gave the appreciation while addressing a technical meeting of his Policy Coordination Unit.

    The Governor, reviewing the implementation of his five point agenda, expressed satisfaction at the delivery so far across the various sectors.

    “I am largely satisfied with our programme implementation so far. We have surpassed expectations and targets within one and half years in office. We just need to redouble our efforts as we face mid-term in the next six months.

    He said the feedback from the public has been encouraging as the people gave his government an A-rating in workers’ welfare, infrastructure, health, education and in other sector.

    “They are happy we are delivering on good governance. A friend said our approval rating is over 80 percent. I told him I must work harder in some areas, especially that 20 percent gap. The good thing is we are just one and half years in office.

    “ Our party has also become very entrenched across the local governments. Leaders who were not with me during the gubernatorial primaries are now solidly with us. We are gaining more ground as people get pleasant surprises with our performance.

    “Feedback shows our people are happy with our dual effort at physical and stomach infrastructure. We will continue to build the road and the people. We will not neglect human development for physical development”.

    Governor Adeleke urged the Policy Coordination Unit to ensure proper coordination in policy design and implementation to harness policy innovation in power, digital economy, agriculture, general economic planning, investment drive, sustainable development, youth development and gender focus under the five point agenda.

  • Gov. Adeleke Inaugurates Committee on Contract Review

    Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has charged the Implementation Panel on Contract Review White Paper members to operate within due process and the rule of law.

    Governor Adeleke gave the charge during the committee’s inauguration at the banquet hall of the government house, Okefia, Osogbo of the State capital.

    He maintained that the panel was not to witch-hunt anyone, saying they should work as a matter of urgency to put an end to impunity.

    Governor Adeleke urged the committee to employ all state machinery to ensure they put the record straight in the history of the State.

    In his remark, the Chairman of the Committee, Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Chief Kolapo Alimi promised that the committee would discharge their duty diligently.

    Chief Alimi assured that anyone who was indicted would be given a fair hearing.

    Other members of the committee include Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Jimi Bada, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Hon Dosu Babatunde, Commissioner for Health, Mr Jola Akintola, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Mr Bashiru Bello, and Senior Special Assistant on Bureau of Social Services, Mr Sheriff Bello.

  • Adeleke Appoints Members of Non-Statutory Boards

    The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has approved the appointment of members of non-statutory boards as well as Chairmen, Secretaries and members of Local Government Education Boards.

    In a statement issued by the Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor directed that the appointments take immediate effect.

    The Governor had earlier appointed Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the non-statutory boards.

    Governor Adeleke while congratulating the new appointees, advised them to strictly observe rule of law, due process and procurement laws in all their doings.

    The Board include, Tertiary institutions in the state, Primary Health Care Board, Local, State Universal Basic Education Board and Government Education Board

  • We will nip cultism in the bud – Adeleke

    Osun state government has again reiterated its efforts at curbing the menace of cultism in the state. The media assistant to the state Governor, Mr Bukola Alalade gave the assurance while reacting to the recent killings by some groups of cultists in Ilesa metropolis. 

    Cult clashes have continued to cause stress in some states in the South-west and Eastern part of the country. 

    The situation has become worrisome in Ilesa in the recent times following incessant cases of cult killings with residents living in perpetual fear. 

    Speaking on this development, Mr Alalade called on parents to inculcate good morals as well as religious teachings into their children at their early years. 

    Also speaking, Osun state chairman, National Association of Nigerian Students, Mr Adedamola Ogungbe advised youths to engage themselves  positively, noting that, an idle hand is a devil’s workshop. 

    Mr Ogungbe also implored unemployed youths to engage in skills and vocational works rather than expecting white collar job that may never come. 

    In her Contribution, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, promised that, the command would not fold its arms to allow cultists to turn Ilesa and its environs into a state of anarchy. 

    Mrs Opalola called on members of the public who are in possession of illegal firearms to submit them at the Divisional Police Headquarters nearest to them. 

    Also speaking, the State Corps Commandant of Amotekun, Rtd. Brigader -General Abiodun Adewinbi advised residents of the state to report any strange gathering, explaining that security is everyone’s job. 

    Retired brigader -general Adewinbi reassured that the corps would do everything possible to make the state safe for all.

    It would be recalled that within two weeks in Osun State, five persons were murdered as two rival cult gangs, Aiye, and Ave, battled for supremacy in Ilesa.

  • Poly Rector Suspended Over Alleged Corruption

    Osun State Government has suspended the Rector, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Dr. Tajudeen Odetayo over alleged corruption.

    Dr. Odetayo was appointed as substantive Rector of the Polytechnic on March 14, 2023, by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

    In a letter of suspension dated July 11, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. M. K. Jimoh, it stated that he was suspended for abuse of office and misappropriation of funds.

    “You are to proceed on suspension immediately, while an investigation into the allegations leveled against you commences soon”.

    In another letter dated the same day signed by the Permanent Secretary, the state government appointed Dr. Alabi Kehinde as acting rector with immediate effect.

  • Screening for Commissioner Nominees in Osun Continues

    The Preliminary Screening Exercise for commissioner nominees submitted to the Osun State House of Assembly by the State Governor, Ademola Adeleke was held under a peaceful atmosphere on Wednesday, and it continues today.

    The Exercise was held on the floor of the State House of Assembly, under tight security.

    After the official opening of the exercise which was witnessed by the house, Radio Nigeria reports that the first batch of the nominees were questioned one after the other on their prospects for the state, behind closed doors.

    In separate interviews, a cross-section of the nominees including; Mr. Abiodun Ojo from Ayedaade Local Government, Mr. Moruf Ayofe from Ede North Local Government, and Mr. Adesola  Ogungbile from Egbedore Local Government who described the procedure as rigorous and Transparent noted that the panel were professionals.

    They promised to work assiduously to improve the socio-economic status of the state in line with the five-point Agenda of Governor Ademola Adeleke. 

    While fielding questions from Newsmen after the exercise, The Deputy Speaker and the Chairman of the 7 Man Adhoc Screening Committee, Prince Akinyode Oyewusi who said the nominees were adequately competent for the task ahead of them stressed that there is the need to engage them in the exercise so as to bring out the best in them. 

    Responding to the reason a section of the screening was held, Prince Oyewusi said the Adhoc committee was only to make recommendations and would give a report to the whole House come next Monday and on Tuesday and an open screening exercise would be held at the floor of House which would accommodate other Lawmakers, Pressmen and other interested members of the public. 

    Those who appeared for screening on Wednesday included, Barrister Oladosu Babatunde, Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe, Mr. Sesan Oyedele, Barrister Kolapo Alimi, Mr. Soji Ajeigbe,  Mr. Moshood Olagunju and Mr.George Alabi, Mr. Olufemi Oroniyi, Mr. Abiodun  Ọjọ, Doctor Basiru Salami, Mr. Morufu Ayofe, Mr. Adesọla Ogungbile, and Reverend Bunmi Jenyo.   

    Meanwhile, the second batch which comprises of twelve other nominees will be screened today, Thursday, by 10:00 o’clock in the morning. 

    They are Mrs. Ayọ Awolowo, Barrister Wole Jimi-Bada, Mr. Dipo Eluwole, Alhaji Rasheed Aderibigbe, Professor Moruf Adeleke, Mr. Adeyemo Ademola, Mr. Olabiyi Odunlade and Barrister Jola Akintola, Mr.Mayowa Adejoorin, Mrs. Adenike Adeleke, Mr. Tola Faseru and Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa.

  • Adeleke Charges Perm Secs on Diligence

    Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has advised the new Permanent Secretaries in the state to be good ambassadors and good example to their subordinates in the discharge of their duties.

    Governor Adeleke who gave the advice at the inauguration of new Permanent Secretaries described them as representatives of the Governor and the people in their various Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.

    The Governor said he has directed the Head of Service to ensure effective monitoring of the Permanent Secretaries’ activities and compliance with the implementation of the Action Plan of the government. 

    He urged them to team up with him to come up with revised mandates of the various MDAs thereby preparing the grounds for the incoming cabinet. “Loyalty must also be your watchword. We will not hesitate to show any of you the way out if and when found wanting” he said.

    Governor Adeleke said he has approved the position of Director-General of the State Broadcasting Corporation to have equal rights and privileges of a Permanent Secretary in the State Civil Service.

    While assuring those who could not make the list that the process is a continuous one, the Governor also assured the people of Osun state that his administration is poised to deliver dividends of democracy across the sectors.

    Responding on behalf of other newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries, Mrs. Yetunde Esan appreciated the Governor for the honor done on them, noting that it is what they have been waiting for since twelve years ago

    She therefore pledged that the Permanent Secretaries will serve the State to the best of their ability.

  • Adeleke Commends INEC, Security Agencies

    Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun has commended the security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for making the electoral processes peaceful in the state.  

     The Governor gave the commendation while speaking with Radio Nigeria after casting his vote at Unit 009, Ward 2, Abogunde/Sagba, in Ede North Local Government area, at about 8:50 a.m

    He said he has given a directive to all security personnel to ensure that the electorate comes out and exercises their civic responsibilities without any hindrances. 

    Governor Adeleke, however, appealed to the electorate across the state to come out and exercise their franchise without fear of violence.

  • I will complete all developmental projects – Gov. Adeleke

    Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State says he will complete all ongoing projects of the previous administration in the state.

    Governor Adeleke stated this when he received members of the Osun State House of Assembly who paid a courtesy visit at the Executive lounge of the Governor’s Office, Abere.

    He said his administration has embarked on several developmental projects in the state assuring the upgrading of the facilities in the State House of Assembly.

    Governor Adeleke who noted that he would not tolerate any activities that would truncate the peace in the state before, during or after the election said, he has called for an emergency meeting with all security chiefs to ensure peace in the state.

    Earlier, the Speaker, of Osun State House of Assembly, Mr Timothy Owoeye, with the support of Governor Adeleke, had promised to move the state forward, adding that, members of the parliament are putting politics and party affiliation aside to join hands with the Governor’s administration to develop the State.

    “We can see that your administration has already commenced working. We pray that God will continue to strengthen you sir”, he added.

  • Adeleke Advises New Judges on Fair Judgement

    Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has urged the new Judges in state judiciary to dispense justice without fear or favour .

    Governor Adeleke made the call at the swearing in of four new Judges of the State High Court in Abere, Osun State.


    He described efficient Judiciary as the foundation of democracy saying democracy cannot thrive unless the Judiciary Independence in guaranteed.


    The Governor said, his government is poised to support the Judiciary to discharge justice and to overcome her operational challenges while acknowledging the long list of needs of the Judiciary.


    He reiterated his commitment to earlier promise of upgrade of judicial facilities and introduction of ICT in the dispensation of Justice.


    While charging the judges to see their appointment as a call to service, the Governor promised to support the Judiciary unconditionally for it to deliver on its adjudication mandate.


    Administering the oath of allegiance and Judicial oath on the four newly appointed Judges, Director of Cabinet, Mr Gbenga Adeniran asked them to discharge their duties without allowing their personal interests to influence their decisions.


    Governor’s Office Correspondent, Funmi Adekoya reports that, the four new judges: Justice Muhammed Lasisi, Justice Michael Awe, Justice Fatimah Sódàmádé and Justice Joseph Owolabi after the oaths signed their oaths before the Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke in the presence of The Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi and The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Ojo. 


    Responding on behalf of others, Justice Muhammad Lasisi lauded the Governor for his dynamic leadership style promising that the trust bestowed upon them will be guarded with all sense of objectivity, impartiality, fairness and justice.

  • Illegal Employees Remain Disengaged – Osun State Government

    Osun State Government says workers illegally employed by former Governor Gboyega Oyetola are no longer in the employment of the state government.

    The State Government, in a statement by the Special Assistant, Community Communications to Governor Adeleke, Mr Tunde Busari, notes that the former Governor padded the state payroll with APC members to create a stage for deeper financial crisis, conflict and disharmony.

    It explains that, by virtue of the Executive Order issued by Governor Adeleke, those illegally employed remain sacked and are no longer a staff of the state government. 

    The statement reads, “Those engaging in demonstrations are APC members smuggled into the state payroll by former Governor Oyetola. No amount of demonstration and blackmail can change that reality.  

    “We have the details of a plan by APC to deploy its disengaged members for demonstration. However, the people of Osun state are in the know of the whole situation especially the several warnings by the PDP while in opposition. We warned against colluding with Mr Oyetola during those last days when the former Governor was issuing employment letters despite the State’s inability to pay staff salaries”.

    “Those APC members are now playing the script. They have failed from the beginning as this administration will not bow to unjustified demands from those who collaborated to deepen Osun’s financial woes”, the statement noted.

  • Adeleke Sets Agenda for Youth Development in Osun

    Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke says his administration will ensure youth development through sports.

    Governor Adeleke stated this at the final match of the third edition of the Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial Football Competition held at the Osogbo Township Stadium, Osogbo.

    The Governor, who expressed his happiness with the tournament aimed at celebrating the life of his elder brother and first civilian Governor of Osun State, said as a sports lover, he would ensure the development of sports.

    “As a sports lover, I want to state that we will develop sports in Osun State. We shall rehabilitate our stadium to an international standard.

    “Before our hundred days in office, the people of Osun will see the difference. We shall soon be rolling out our programmes and I believe it’s going to be for the benefit of everyone.”

    Meanwhile, Egbedore football team won the third edition of the Isiaka Adetunji Memorial Football Cup Competition in the final match against Osun Football Academy, Osun FA.

    Egbedore won via a penalty shootout after a goalless 90 minutes between the two sides, in the match which started around 3:30 pm.

    The winner went home with the cup and a sum of One million naira while Osun FA, the 2nd place team, went home with 500 thousand naira, from the organiser of the contest, Member of House of Representative, Mr. Bamidele Salam.
