A new Civil Defence Public Relations Officer, CDPRO, Mrs Oyindamola Okuneye has assumed duty at the Oyo State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

This is contained in a statement by the Command’s Administration Officer, Mr Igbalawole Sotiyo.

The statement notes that the former Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr Olusegun Oluwole has been deployed to the NSCDC Annex office at Ona Ara.

The new PRO, Mrs Okuneye took over from Mr Oluwole Olusegun, who has served the Corps in that capacity for more than a decade as the Corps Spokesman.

The statement notes that Mrs Okuneye finished from the Tai Solarin University of Education with a degree in Business Administration.

Until her recent appointment was the Public Relations Officer of the newly created Female Special Squad of the Oyo State Command.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC’s Commandant in Oyo State, Mr Micheal Adaralewa says the command has deployed two thousand personnel to some strategic locations in the state, to ensure a crime-free Yuletide celebration.

This is contained in a statement signed in Ibadan by NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Mr Oluwole Olusegun.

The statement notes that the deployed personnel include armed squad, Counterterrorist squad, female squad, Disaster Management officers, Agro-Rangers and under-cover officers.

It states further that the personnel were deployed to motor parks, recreational centres, worship centres and highways to ensure watertight security in Oyo State before, during and after the yuletide celebration.

He urged well-meaning Nigerians to warn their children and wards to desist from any act that can threaten the peace of the state.

Mr  Adaralewa, therefore, called on all the Christian faithful to use the festive season to pray for peace in the country, be benevolent and moderate in celebration.

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Oyo State Command has deployed two thousand five hundred personnel to all areas in the state for a crime-free Easter celebrations. 

This is contained in a statement signed in Ibadan by the NSCDC Public Relations Officer in Oyo State, Mr. Oluwole Olusegun.

In the statement, Oyo State NSCDC Commandant, Mr. Iskilu Akinsanya stays that the deployment of the officers to all the 33 Local Government Areas and 35 LCDAs of the state became imperative so as to enable the Christian faithful to have a good festival.

Mr Akinsanya also called all Area Commanders, Divisional officers and personnel of the Corps to beef up security in their vicinity before, during and after the festive period.

Meanwhile, the commandant has directed the Disaster Management Unit to always have the command’s ambulance and personnel on highways for rescue during the celebration, the Agro Rangers squad and the Counter-Terrorism Unit have also been deployed to all the nooks and crannies of the state to prevent crime and criminality during Easter celebration.

Commandant Akinsanya urged Nigerians irrespective of their religion to be law abiding.

He also enjoined the Christian faithful to reflect on the lesson of the Passion, Suffering, Forgiveness and Love of Christ learnt during the lent and also pray for peace in our nation and success of the present government.

The Oyo State NSCDC Commandant also enjoined the general public to volunteer information to Nigeria Security and Civil Defence officers and men near to them or call the Control room on 09070473188, 09055533303 and 08077513995 whenever they suspected any strange movement or suspicious around them.

This is contained in a statement signed in Ibadan by the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, Mr Oluwole Olusegun.

NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr Iskilu Akinsanya, assures the residents on the preparedness of the Corps towards the incoming festive period that no stone will be left unturned in order to protect them maximally.

Mr Akinsanya says he has directed all the Area Commanders, Divisional Officers and personnel of the corps to intensify security coverage within the nooks and crannies of the state to maintain a peaceful coexistence among people.

He also reiterates his command’s commitment to provide adequate security of lives and property in order to make the Christmas and New Year Festival a crime free period for the citizens of the state.

The commandant enjoins the people of the state to go about their various businesses legitimately and be security-conscious at all times.

Mr Akinsanya therefore called on parents and guardians to caution their wards against the use of fireworks like banger to avoid fire disaster as the harmattan season has set in.

NSCDC boss emphasized to the officers and men of the corps on the need to see the citizens as their neighbours and to always be civil and professional while discharging their duties.
