It was a day of joy and thanksgiving as dignitaries from across the country gathered at St. James’ Anglican Church, Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, to celebrate the 90th birthday of Mrs. Victoria Abiodun, mother of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
In his sermon, Bishop of Remo Anglican Diocese, Most Reverend Olushina Fape reminded the congregation that only the living can praise God, noting that God’s grace and mercy should never be taken for granted.

He described Mama Victoria Abiodun as a devout Christian who raised her children in the fear of God, including Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The cleric also praised her as a peace-loving and wise woman known for her role in conflict resolution and promoting harmony in her community.
He urged mama to continue in her walk with God, spend more time in His presence, forgive all who may have wronged her, and keep living a life of purpose.
Most Reverend Fape also commended Governor Abiodun for the successful inauguration of the Gateway International Airport, describing it as a major milestone that now enables direct flights from Ogun State to Abuja.
In a goodwill message, President Bola Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume, described Mama Abiodun as an accomplished educator and mentor who helped shape future generations through discipline and excellence.
In his remarks, Governor Dapo Abiodun expressed deep gratitude to his mother for her sacrifices, values, and godly upbringing.
The event was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and the governors of Lagos, Osun, and Oyo States, senators, traditional rulers, and other distinguished Nigerians.
