Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin has distributed fourteen brand new motorcycles to his Constituents drawn from all the wards in Lanlate, Ibarapa East Local Government.

Another thirty Constituents received twenty-five thousand naira each to boost their economic activities. 

The program held at Oke-Imale in Lanlate was attended by Leaders and PDP faithful from the Constituency.

Mr Ogundoyin said the gesture was in furtherance of his resolve to elevate the socio-economic statuses of his Constituents, and to appreciate their support and loyalty.

He assured that apart from the thirty people who got twenty-five thousand naira each in Lanlate, more people will be considered in another of such program which will be done in the next few weeks.

Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, has announced the dissolution of all 36 standing Committee of the 9th Assembly. 

The dissolution which was announced on the floor of the House during its short plenary, is with immediate effect. 

In an interview after the sitting, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin said the dissolution of the standing committees was to restructure legislative activities for better performance. 

Mr Ogundoyin said the dissolution was in line with parliamentary processes, rules and regulations.

The speaker said all ADHOC committees would henceforth complete legislative processes on outstanding bills before the house. 

Though this is the first time the 9th assembly will dissolve all standing committees, our correspondent recalled that the house had last year did a minor rejig, affecting standing committees on works and finance.

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, OYHA, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin has sympathised with the victims, who lost their property and goods at the fire incident that razed shops at Lebanon Street, Dugbe Market, Ibadan.

In a statement signed by the speaker, Mr. Ogundoyin described the incident as unfortunate, adding that the economic loss was at a period when the world is fighting hard against global pandemic of Covid-19. 

He expressed concern that possible recession may become a big blow on the fire victims’ households and the state.

According to Mr. Ogundoyin, the state government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde has visited the market, commiserated with the victims and promised to get to the root of the incident.

Pursuant to the request of the people of Ibarapa East State Constituency to make Eruwa Water Supply Scheme functional, the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin has promised the state government intervention on the scheme.

Mr. Ogundoyin stated that the resuscitation of the Eruwa Dam is imperative at this point in time for human and agricultural needs of the area.

The Speaker gave the assurance during an unscheduled visit to dam in response to the request of the people of the area.

The meeting was one of the fallouts of the Town Hall Meeting held at Eruwa, where the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola Akindele and some of the stakeholders in the constituency called on the state government to make the dam functional.

Mr. Ogundoyin, who was conducted round facilities at the Eruwa Dam by one of the workers, Mr. Isaiah Emado, said there was the need for the state government to upgrade and repair facilities at the dam.

The Speaker maintained that it was unfortunate that such a huge project is wasting and rotting away when it could be used to improve the lives of residents of the area.
