The Oyo State Chapter of the Association of Diction Coaches of Nigeria, ADCN, has been inaugurated with the swearing-in of the State Executive Council at the University of Ibadan.

Miss Deborah Hirekaan emerged as the Oyo State coordinator while one of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station’s senior presenters, Mrs Adewunmi Aluko, was sworn-in as the State Assistant coordinator of the association alongside.

Others are Onadota Akinyele as Welfare and Social Secretary and Temitope Oyedemi as Secretary.

Administering the oath of office on the new executives, the National Vice President of ADCN, Mrs. Regina Chris-Ogbodo said the executives should do all to achieve the mandate of the association by developing the profession.

She also encouraged them to bring professional diction coaches across the state into the fold and make the Oyo State chapter of the association a   true pacesetter.

In her acceptance speech, the new state ADCN coordinator, Miss Deborah Hirekaan said the association which started as a group was formed in 2020 through selfless donations and the sincere commitment of members to the growth of the association.

Miss Hirekaan pledged to ensure a harmonious working relationship with other members and executives to achieve the goal of the association. 

In an interview, the Oyo State Assistant coordinator of ADCN, Mrs. Adewunmi Aluko said she would contribute her quota toward the development of the association in the state.

Aside from the presence of members of the association drawn from within and outside Oyo State, the event also attracted secondary school students who had a keen interest in perfect English diction.
