  • Be a teacher, not a cheater – Fayemi tells Ekiti teachers

    The Ekiti State Government says it will not tolerate mediocrity among teachers across the public Primary and Secondary schools in the state with emphasis for them to be creative, committed and embrace moral excellence.

    Governor Kayode Fayemi stated this while presenting appointment letters to the six hundred newly recruited Primary School Teachers held in Ado-Ekiti.

    Governor Fayemi said the future of the state was tied to the success of the younger generation more so that the education sector remained the most thriving industry in Ekiti.

    Represented by the Deputy Governor Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, Dr Fayemi urged them to always display integrity in the discharge of their duties and shun immoralities which could in turn impact negatively to the system.

    He explained that the government was conscious of providing a conducive teaching environment across the schools, hence the need for teachers to reciprocate the gesture.

    While speaking on the recruitment process, Governor Fayemi observed that those recruited were based on merit, transparent and devoid of political, religion, gender, background and ethnic colourations.

    Governor Fayemi tasked them to take advantage of the five-day training programme and induction service organised for newly recruited teachers to improve on their capabilities.

    The Ekiti State number one citizen said his administration would not tolerate teachers who might cheat on the system, hence, the need to be a good teacher and not a cheater.

    Earlier, the Executive Chairman, Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, Professor Femi Akinwumi counseled them to always take good care of pupils who he said were still in their formative years.

    Professor Akinwumi also appreciated Governor Fayemi for clearing all outstanding counterpart funds owed to UBEC covering 2015 to 2020 and urged the new intakes to purge themselves from acts of laziness, truancy and lateness to duty.

    In their goodwill messages, Mr Sola Ajiborode challenged the newly recruited teachers to see their appointments as a treasure that must be protected by doing everything possible in their capabilities to improve the standard of education.

    Ekiti State SUBEB Coordinator, Mr Sunday Aremo noted that the passion for improving the education sector and making education more meaningful to the younger generation should be promoted by the newly recruited teachers.

    In her own submission, the Special Adviser to Governor on Basic, Secondary and Vocational Education, Professor Francesca Aladejana challenged teachers to always move with the digital trends of imparting knowledge for them not to be found wanting in the teaching profession.

  • Ekiti Recruitment: Written Exams Holds September 21st

    All is now set for the conduct of the written examination for the recruitment of teachers into the public primary schools in Ekiti State.

    The qualifying examination comes up tomorrow (Saturday September 21) in designated centres in Ado Ekiti, Ikere, Ido, Ode, Ikole, and Ijero Ekiti.

    A statement in Ado-Ekiti by the Chairman, Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Professor Francisca Aladejana directs candidates who applied for the teaching job to visit https://ekitistate.gov.ng/applicantseat to know their centres.

    The statement implores applicants to bring along printed copies of their application forms and copies of their examination registration slips while coming for the examination scheduled to commence at ten O’ clock in the morning.

    It however warns that candidates would not be allowed to bring in their telephones and other electronic devices into the examination halls.

    Radio Nigeria correspondent, report that eleven thousand, six hundred candidates out of about twenty thousand applicants who initially applied for the teaching jobs are expected to sit for the qualifying examination.

    One thousand, one hundred of the applicants will be recruited at the end of the exercise.

  • The Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB has announced Saturday September 21st as the date of examination for all the applicants into the teaching profession in public primary schools in the state.

    In a statement in Ado Ekiti, the SUBEB chairman Professor Francisca Aladejana advised the applicants to pay one thousand naira examination processing fee to secure a seat number.

    Professor Aladejana urged all the applicants to come with their examination printout slips at their selected centres on the day of examination.

    According to her, all the applicants are to re- visit the state jobs website www.ekitistate.gov.ng/jobs to confirm their registration for the examination and adhere strictly to the directive on it.

    She made it clear that any printout slip without an examination seat number would not be accepted at the centres.

    Radio Nigeria correspondent report that over 20,000 job seekers applied on line for the recruitment into the teaching profession out of which 1001 of them will be employed.

  • Teachers Recruitment: Ekiti Commences Collection of Application Forms

    Collection of application forms online for the recruitment of teachers into the public primary schools in Ekiti state has commenced today.

    In view of this, many cyber cafe centres within Ado Ekiti metropolis played host to applicants.

    Two of the Applicants, Tope Ajayi and Bimbo Olagunju appealed to the state government to base the exercise on merit without political consideration.

    They however complained that it was difficult to access the website meant for the application today being the first day of the exercise.

    Also, the Chairman, Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, Professor Francisca Aladejana said that only holders of National Certificate of Education, NCE and University Degrees in Education are qualified to apply on the website” www.ekitistate.gov.ng/job.

    According to Professor Aladejana, the applicants are to fill and submit the forms online between today and next week Friday.

    Applicants are to print the acknowledgment slips on the last page of their forms as the slips will serve as entry permit during the qualifying examination which will be announced later.
