Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Oyo State Chapter, has mourned the death of one of the patrons of the association, and a former Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, Elder Bode Oyewole, who the cold hands of death took away on Tuesday morning.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of SWAN, Oyo state chapter, Comrade Olaolu Fawole and made available to newsmen, the association described the demise of its die-hard patron during a brief illness as a news very hard to believe.

“He was a guest on a radio sports programme few weeks ago where he was full of life and energy. He would at many times he would put across series of calls to me about recent happenings in the association, honestly, his position would be difficult to fill” Fawole added

The association equally went down memory lane, when the seasoned the sports journalist who was equally a former Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ, Oyo State Council, had organised many football competitions, which resulted in discovery of various talents.

Fawole pointed out that the astute football administrator, who was fondly called B.O., would be missed for his elderly advice and contribution to football development in Nigeria.

SWAN, Oyo State Chapter, therefore prayed for the repose of the departed soul and that God to grant his family, friends and stakeholders in the football circle, the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
