It was an exciting moment in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital as the management and Staff of Radio Nigeria Paramount FM organized a send-off party for the outgoing Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph.

Dignitaries, including traditional rulers, media professionals, government functionaries and well-wishers from all walks of life, took turns to extol the virtues of the retiring Zonal Director, describing her as a broadcaster par excellence. 

In a message to the occasion, the Agura of Gbagura, Abeokuta, Oba Saburee Bakre noted that the submissions of people had indicated that the outgoing Zonal Director made indelible impacts on the broadcasting industry.

Oba Bakre who was represented by the Former General Manager, Ogun State Television, OGTV, Chief Festus Kehinde, said the professional prowess of Mrs Joseph would be missed and prayed to God to grant her a more prosperous life after retirement.

Addressing the gathering, a religious leader, Bishop Jeremiah Okunlola of the African Church, Solution Ground, Leme in Abeokuta encouraged all and sundry to build long-lasting legacies by using their positions to affect the lives of others positively.

Earlier, the General Manager of Paramount FM, Mr Akinyinka Akintola had described the outgoing Zonal Director as a resourceful and versatile mentor of talents with very good leadership skills.

Responding, Mrs Bolatito Joseph expressed joy over the outpouring of love and encomium showered on her by the people and encouraged those still in service to sustain their dedication to duties and resourcefulness.

Highlights of the event include live presentations by the state cultural troupe and a relay of video messages from family members, close associates and acquaintances of the outgoing Zonal Director.

Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has applauded the grassroots and network reach of Radio Nigeria in the broadcast Industry in the country.

The Governor spoke when he received the outgoing zonal director , FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph, Positive FM General manager, Mrs Olubunmi Olalere and other management team of Positive FM.

He particularly commended Radio Nigeria for it’s uniqueness, professionalism and unbeatable reach and professionalism which the governor noted made the station outstanding.

Speaking on enormous cost of funding broadcast stations , Governor Akeredolu suggested switching to solar energy to reduce reliance on diesel , cutting unnecessary costs and putting assets to profitable use.

He then promised to assist Positive FM Akure in its quest to enhance quality service to the people of the state.

Earlier, the Zonal director FRCN Ibadan zonal station Mrs Joseph condoled with the state government on the Owo church attack while also appreciating the governor for leading the cause to protect the people in the southwest.

Commitment to duty is imperative to take any organusation to greater heights.

The Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph made this known at Radio Nigeria Paramount FM, Abeokuta, when she visited the station to distribute promotion letters to newly elevated staff.

The Zonal Director who decried what she described as lackadaisical attitude among members of staff, stressed that discipline was sacrosanct and must be embraced by everyone.

On corruption, Mrs Joseph tasked all staff to do the right thing at the right time and eschew corrupt acts.

The assistant Director Administration, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr Adebayo Esho in a remark enjoined staff to be devoted to their duties and discharge their responsibilities efficiently as the corporation would no longer tolerate disregard to established rules and regulations.

The General Manager, Paramount FM Abeokuta, Mr Akinyinka Akintola appreciated the Zonal Director for her supports to the station.

Addressing the staffers prior to distribution of the letters , Mrs Joseph tasked the beneficiaries to buckle down to the new responsibilities which always accompany such promotions.

The Zonal Director noted that concerted efforts of the staff remained the springboard for the station to attain greater heights in line with its vision and mission statements.

Earlier, the Assistant Director of administration, Mr Adebayo Esho had counselled the staff on discipline and commitment to duties.

Mr Esho advised the newly promoted staff not to rest on their oars as Radio Nigeria would continue to reward diligence and hard work among its workers.

Former Director, Sports and Outside Broadcast, Radio Nigeria Abuja, Mr Sina Abimbola has called for synergy among the staff of the station for improved productivity.

Mr Abimbola stated this during the first formal training organized for the staff of the Department of Sports and Outside Broadcast.

He said that the institutional requirement of all departments must be planning, punctuality, research and the use of proper language to command the attention of the public.

At the opening of the training, the Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan, Mrs Bolatito Joseph told participants that the training would develop their ability to undertake large productions and use the Outside Broadcast and Sports van effectively.

In a remark, the Deputy Director, Sports and OB, Dr Abiodun Ogidan said the essence of the training was to encourage and develop the expertise and creativity of participants.

Dr Ogidan gave the station assurance of excellent performance from the department.

The Sports and Outside Broadcast Department is saddled with the task of covering and transmitting sports news as well other events.

Nigerians have been enjoined to use the fasting period for sober reflection and eschew acts that are inimical to fellow humans.

The wife of the former governor of Oyo State, Dr Florence Ajimobi stated this when management of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, paid a courtesy visit to the former first lady at her Oluyole residence.

She explained that since both Christian and Muslim faiths are on fasting, the period is an opportunity for all and sundry to be closer to God and offer supplications to Him.

Dr Ajimobi urged people to always strive to leave good legacies behind them as done by her husband Senator Abiola Ajimobi, whom she said impacted people’s life positively.

She then pledged that her collaboration with Radio Nigeria would be sustained.

Zonal Director, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph said the visit was not only to congratulate Dr Ajimobi on her 63rd birthday but to strengthen the existing relationship between the corporation and the birthday celebrant.

The Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan National Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph stated this while on a working visit to Radio Nigeria Positive FM, Akure to solicit partnerships with agencies and institutions in Ondo State for the station.

Mrs Joseph in the company of the management staff of Positive FM Akure met with the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, SSG, Princess Oladunni Odu, the speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, ODHA, Mr Bamidele Oloyelogun, the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi and the executives of Heads of Federal Government Establishments and Institutions in Nigeria, NAFOHEADS, Ondo State chapter.

During her call to the forum of heads of government agencies, Mrs Joseph appreciated the cooperation among the forum over the years and urged them to make use of the wide platforms of Radio Nigeria to publicize their events and activities.

At the office of the Secretary to the Ondo State government, Mrs Joseph said Positive FM was ever ready to promote all government activities and used the meeting to further notify the SSG of the station’s forthcoming 20th-anniversary taking place on April 20th, 2022.

Responding, the SSG, Princess Oladunni Odu described Radio Nigeria as a destination of choice for accurate news and pledged the assistance of the government to the station.

At the palace of the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo commended Positive FM for enlightening the people since its establishment in 2002.

Corroborating the Deji of Akure, the speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, ODHA, Mr Bamidele Oloyelogun advised Positive FM to remain unbiased while scoring the station high in its news and programming.

In her remarks, the General Manager, Positive FM Akure, Mrs Olubunmi Olalere pledged the station’s commitment to the people of Ondo state.

The visit ended with a meeting of the ZD with members of staff of Positive FM where Mrs Joseph charged them to be dedicated while pledging management’s commitment to addressing the welfare and other challenges facing the zone.

The Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph has received an award of excellence, for her immense contributions to the development of broadcasting over the years.

Mrs. Joseph was one of the recipients of the award organized by the Chief Executive officer of Agidigbo FM, Dr. Oriyomi Hamzat.

Presenting the award, Dr. Hamzat noted that he was mentored by the zonal director years back while he was yet to gain ground in the media industry.

Receiving the award, Mrs. Bolatito Joseph who could not hide her joy thanked the organizer and promised to continue to set the pace for which her work is known.

Among other award recipients were Pa Bamiji Ojo, Prince Dotun Oyelade, prince Biodun Sanda and Chief Olarenwaju Adepoju.

All is now set for the opening of a two-day workshop in Lagos organised by the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, on Broadcast Ecology and Politics in Nigeria.

Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Ibadan, Mrs Bolatito Joseph says the Corporation will always render professional assistance to the first labour radio in Africa, Pensioners, FM Ibadan. 

Mrs Joseph said this while receiving the management team of Pensioners FM Ibadan who were on a courtesy visit to the Corporation. 

She said FRCN which has always been at the forefront of modern broadcasting would not relent to collaborate with other radio stations in meeting demands of the listeners.

Mrs Joseph who described the General Manager of Pensioners FM, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu for being a thoroughbred Professional pointed out that his appointment did not come to her as a surprise.

Earlier, the General Manager, Pensioners FM Ibadan, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu had solicited the assistance of FRCN Ibadan in the area of training.

Dr Tiamiyu who congratulated Mrs Joseph for her appointment as Zonal Director said she contributed immensely to his professional experience.

Members of Cooperative Societies have been advised to always pay back their loans regularly.

Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan, Mrs Bolatito Joseph gave the advice at the foundation laying ceremony of the secretariat of Radio Nigeria Ibadan Staff Unity Multi-Purpose Cooperative society at the premises of the Corporation, Dugbe, Ibadan. 

Mrs Joseph said if Cooperators were able to pay back their loans as and when due, it would ensure rapid progress for both members and cooperative Societies. 

She called on cooperators in the Corporation to support the executives of the cooperative society to excel.

Earlier, President of Radio Nigeria Staff Unity Multi-Purpose Cooperative society, Mrs Olutola Daramola said the building project was being financed by members of the cooperative society. 

Mrs Daramola said there were other lofty programmes that would be of great benefits to the members, adding that new members are free to join the society 

The construction of the secretariat of Radio Nigeria Ibadan Staff Unity Multi Purpose cooperative society is expected to be completed in three months.

Asabari FM 88.5, Saki has been described as a Federal Government presence in Oke-Ogun, which will serve information needs of people about government policies and programmes.

The Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan National Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph stated during a courtesy visit with the management team to the Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Olabisi at Igboro, Saki.

Mrs Joseph stressed that it was imperative to pay homage to the monarch in line with Yoruba tradition and motto of Radio Nigeria.

The FRCN Zonal Director also explained that the visit to Saki was part of efforts to ensure that the Asabari FM come on air as soon as possible.

Responding, the Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Olabisi, while congratulating Mrs Bolatito Joseph on her appointment as the Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan National Station stated that it was a pride and encouragement to the young girls when women were in the helms of affairs of government agencies.

Oba Olabisi said the people of Saki are anxiously awaiting the commencement of operations at the Asabari FM.

Earlier, the Bagii of Saki, High Chief Abdurasheed Adegoke who confirmed that Radio Nigeria is the true of the people commended Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for reviving the Oyo State Agricultural Development Programme, OYSADEP complex and completion of dual carriage road in Saki city.

The management of FRCN Ibadan National Station also went on facility inspection to the premise of Asabari FM, Saki.

Journalists have been advised to always ensure that the right information is disseminated to the public. 

Chief Medical Director University College Hospital, UCH, Professor Jesse Otegbayo represented by Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee on Education and Training, Doctor Oluwatoyin Lawal stated this in Ibadan when the Management of Radio Nigeria, Ibadan led by its Zonal Director, Mrs Bolatito Joseph paid a courtesy visit to UCH.

Professor Otegbayo explained that information plays a significant role in the socio-economic well-being, stability and security of any society which could be hindered by wrong information.

Professor Otegbayo who lauded Radio Nigeria for its professionalism said UCH was ready to collaborate with the station.

Earlier, the Zonal Director, Mrs Bolatito Joseph appreciated the management of UCH for its relationship with Radio Nigeria since 2016, especially for previous support for programmes held for the elderly.

Mrs Joseph added that Radio Nigeria would continue to foster a cordial relationship with UCH.

In order to reduce the prevalence of breast cancer, a non-governmental organization, Filling in the Gaps Outreach, FIGS,  is to conduct breast cancer-free screening for one thousand residents of Ajia in Ona Ara local government area of Oyo State.

The Chairman, Board of Trustee of FIGS, Engineer Sunday Gbenjo stated this during a congratulatory visit to the Zonal Director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph.

Engineer Gbenjo explained that the free screening for women in the selected community formed part of the first quarter activities of 2022.

The BOT chairman said apart from the one thousand women that would benefit from the breast cancer-free screening, orphans, the less privileged, the girl child and poor women would be empowered at Moniya in Akinyele local government soon.

Engineer Gbenjo also pledged to donate a camera that would enable the Frcn Ibadan ZD to monitor activities in her office.

Reacting, the Zonal Director, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station Mrs Bolatito Joseph, who is also the media director of the organization, said the organization had impacted on the less privileged members of the society.

Mrs Joseph appreciated FIGS members for the congratulatory visit.

High point of the visit was the presentation of a portrait to the Zonal Director.

Asabari F.M of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan, Zonal Station, will soon commence transmission.

The Zonal Director, Mrs Bolatito Joseph gave the assurance while honouring a member of staff, Mr. Sherifdeen Nashirdeen who was given an award by the National Association of Saki Parapo in Oke Ogun area of Oyo state.  

The award was in recognition of efforts of the senior reporter towards his contributions to the development of Saki especially the facilitation of establishment of Asabari FM 88.5 Saki, which will soon commence operations.

Mrs Joseph explained that the station, when fully operational, would not only provide job opportunities and form part of infrastructure in the community, but also meet the information and entertainment needs of the people.

The Zonal Director who commended Saki Parapo for considering one of her staff for the award, said it was an honour done to Radio Nigeria at large.

She urged the award recipient, Mr. Nashirdeen and members of staff to be more diligent in their line of duties for more awards of excellence.

At the moment, Radio Nigeria Ibadan Zonal Station has eight F.M stations across the South West region.

It was a welcome home situation as members of staff Ogo-Ilu FM received the Zonal Director, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph amidst pomp and pageantry .

The Zonal Director since assumption office has been on facility inspection tour to all stations under Ibadan zone.

The reception at Ogo-Ilu was exemplary as local drummers from the locality welcomed the zd with their percussion.

The zd who came in the company of Deputy director Engineering services, Mr Gabriel Ajayi and Assistant director, administrative department, Reverend Adebayo Esho commended the staffers of Ogo-Ilu for keeping the flag of FRCN flying.

Mrs Joseph while emphasising on increased Internally Generated Revenue said it was necessary for all staffers to work together as a team to achieve a common goal.

The zd also harped on the need of all staffers to comport themselves and unite as a family.

“I want all of you to work together, an injury to one is an injury to all” She said

Welcoming the Zonal Director, Head of station, Ogo-Ilu FM Oko, Mr.Segun Akanmu appreciated the Zonal Director for finding time to visit the station.

Mr Akanmu pledged to put all internal mechanisms in place to ensure more productivity.

The Zonal Director who also paid a courtesy call on the palace of the late Soun of Ogbomoso said the essence of the visit was to solidarize with the entire Ogbomoso land over the transition of the revered monarch.

The zd said Frcn also sympathised with Ogbomoso over the demise of Professor Taibat, daughter of the late monarch.

Responding on behalf of the Palace, Are ago of Ogbomoso land, High chief Samuel Otolorin appreciated Frcn for the visit.

High chief Otolorin noted that Ogo-Ilu had been the game changer in the broadcasting circle in Ogbomoso zone with it’s quality news items being broadcast to the public.

Nigerians in positions of authority should make humility a core virtue in their service to the nation.

The President, Sweet Soul Sisters Club Ibadan, Alhaja Adebisi Mujidat, made the comment when she led members of the club to felicitate with Mrs Bolatito Joseph fondly referred to as “BJJ”, on her elevation as Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria Ibadan.

Mrs Mujidat described Mrs Joseph, who was the secretary of the club, as a woman of substance.

The Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Ibadan, Mrs Bolatito Joseph has advised members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Council to always embrace dialogue in resolving issues.

Mrs Joseph gave the advice while playing host to members of the executives of the NUJ, Oyo State.

The Zonal Director said no meaningful development could be achieved by any individual or organization in an atmosphere of rancour and grievances.

While commending the present achievements of the executive members of the Oyo NUJ, Mrs Joseph said FRCN was ready to partner Oyo State NUJ in the efforts at improving the standard of living of members.

Earlier, the leader of the team, Mr Demola Babalola congratulated Mrs Joseph on her appointment as Zonal Director FRCN, Ibadan.

He promised to partner the newly appointed Zonal Director in her efforts at moving the corporation to greater heights.

Mr Babalola said a reconciliation committee had been set up to resolve the lingering issues between the members of Oyo NUJ and FRCN Ibadan NUJ Chapter.

The management of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station has commiserated with Ibadan land and the entire Oyo State on the passage of the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji, who joined his ancestors yesterday.

The commiseration followed a condolence visit to the Olubadan palace at Popoyemoja area of the ancient city by the FRCN Ibadan management team, led by its zonal director, Mrs Bolatito Joseph.

Mrs Joseph said Radio Nigeria would greatly miss the Olubadan because of the cordial relationship that existed between the monarch and the station.

Mrs Joseph described Oba Adetunji as a revered traditional ruler, who spent most parts of his life building people.

The FRCN Ibadan Zonal director urged the royal family to sustain the legacy of the late monarch.

She assured the family of the late monarch of adequate coverage of funeral activities by FRCN.

Mrs Joseph also extended the condolence message of the FRCN Director-General, Dr Mansur Liman and the central management committee to Ibadan and Oyo state.

There is a need for philanthropists, well-meaning Nigerians and Non-Governmental Organizations, NGOs, to assist the less privileged to bridge the gap between the poor and the rich in society.

The Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria, Ibadan National Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph stated this at the commissioning and the handing over of a new house to a widow, Mrs Rachael Folarin at Red Block, Isale Agbon, Oluka Area, Moniya Ibadan donated by an NGO, “Vision Feed the Widows and the Less privileged”.

Mrs Joseph commended the founder of the NGO, who is a staff of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Amuludun FM, Moniya Ibadan, Mr Imoyosola Adetoro for putting smiles on the faces of widows in the society.

In a remark, the General Manager Radio Amuludun FM, Reverend Niyi Dahunsi expressed happiness with the support given by the Zonal Director to the initiator of the NGO.

Reverend Dahunsi advised the founder of the NGO not to relent in his efforts in actualizing his vision.

Meanwhile, the beneficiary of the self-contained apartment, Mrs Racheal Folarin expressed gratitude to the NGO for the gesture.

Speaking, the initiator of the NGO, Mr Imoyosola Adetoro said the rationale behind the NGO is to put smiles on the faces of the poor and the less privileged in the society.

Mr Adetoro seized the opportunity to express appreciation to Radio Nigeria for supporting his vision as a staff in the organization.
