Victims of Gender Based Violence have been told to voice out their ordeal to get justice.

Zonal Chairman, Local Organizing Committee of the 30th Anniversary of  Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih-Society, NAFSAT Oyo Zone 1,  Mr Mohammed Akanbi stated this during a fitness walk to Bodija market to sensitize people  as parts of activities commemorating the anniversary in Ibadan 

Mr Akanbi explained that the issue of Gender Based Violence was prevalent in society, resulting in girls and women being emotionally demoralized and subjected to untold hardship.

Secretary of the Local Organizing Committee of NASFAT 30th Anniversary, Hajiya Shakira Yusuf, speaking on the theme of the walk” Gender Based Violence” said the fitness walk and the theme were carefully chosen to create awareness among the increased number of violated women and girls who had refused to amplify their voices to get justice. 

 In a remark, the Zonal Chairman of NAFSAT, Oyo Zone 1, Alhaji Abdul Razak Fadahunsi,  explained that besides its voice against GBV,  the association equally sought to urge male and female gender to embrace dialogue rather than resorting to violence. 

Alhaji Fadahunsi noted that to complement the government’s effort to tackle GBV,  the organization, as part of its programme,  seeks justice for people who are violated,  and encourages victims of GBV to avail themselves of the free service. 

He called on the government to partner with non-governmental organisations to end GBV and ensure violators are adequately penalized. 

 The fitness walk, which started from Samonda, cut through Sango, Awolowo, Bodija Market and, back to Samonda.

The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, NASFAT, has extended its heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on the passing of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.

In a condolence message signed by the Zonal Chairman, Oyo Zone 1, Alhaji AbdulRazzaq Fadahunsi, and the Zonal Secretary, Alhaji Aliu Kewulere, NASFAT expressed deep sorrow over the loss, noting that it is a profoundly heartbreaking event.

The statement conveyed prayers for the repose of the late Engineer Sunday Makinde’s soul and sought divine strength for Governor Makinde and his family to bear the loss.

NASFAT also prayed for continued peace and unity in Oyo State during this period of mourning.

“May the Almighty comfort you and the entire Makinde family, and may He continue to bless Oyo State with peace and unity in the wake of this event,” the statement read.

The organization reassured the governor of their support and prayers, urging him to find solace in the fond memories of his late brother.

Governor Makinde and his family have continued to receive messages of condolence from various quarters, acknowledging the significant loss.

An Islamic organization, Nasrul-Lahi-il Fathi Society of Nigeria, NASFAT, has inaugurated an ultra-modern Hospital, named NASFAT Medical Centre.

The facility which was donated by a philanthropist, Alhaji Isiaq Asamu through the Asamu Foundation, is located in Soka Area, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The medical facility which was commissioned by the president, NASFAT Society, Alhaji AbdulRauf AbdulWaheed has a range of services that includes obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, children care, general medical care and laboratory services with high quality medical equipment.

Alhaji AbdulWaheed who was represented by the Secretary, National Health Services of the Organisation, Dr. AbdulAkeem Agboola said, though the facility would be run as a business entity, it would still provide affordable, adequate and effective health care services to the public.

The NASFAT president assured people that the charges would be moderate with trusted and qualified medical personnel already recruited, adding that the hospital will be open for all irrespective of religious affiliations.

He then called on the people to make use of the medical centre for proper healthcare delivery.

In a lecture entitled “Health is Wealth”, an Environmentalist, Dr. Maroof Amoo advised Nigerians to prioritize their health by going for regular checkups, eating good and balanced diet to stay healthy and avoid preventable death.

Speaking, the Zonal Chairman of NASFAT, Oyo Zone One, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Fadahunsi said, the society was not only about propagating Islam but also to assist people as directed by God through His servant, Prophet Muhammad.

Alhaji Fadahunsi added that it was also part of efforts to contribute to the nation’s health sector in the interest of the teeming population.

In a goodwill message, wife of the donor, Alhaja Taiwo Asamu described her husband, Alhaji Isiaq Asamu as lover of all who always strives to put smiles on the faces of the people, particularly, the less privileged in the society.

Alhaja Asamu enjoined beneficiaries and the staff to make use of the facility to the Glory of God and benefit of humanity, saying everyone would give account of whatever he or she did while on earth.

At the inauguration of the NASFAT Medical Centre, Soka Ibadan, Oyo State which begins work immediately were members of the National Executive Council of the Society, Zonal Executive including the Public Relations Officer, PRO, who is also the Deputy Director Information and Communication Technology, DDICT, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Alhaja Wosilat Salami.

Women have been enjoined to see themselves as the bedrock of society and strive to effect positive change in all strata.

Zonal Missioner NASFAT, Alhaji Sadalah Adekilekun, stated this while admonishing women after Jumat on the occasion of International Women’s Day held at NASFAT Mosque, Ajegunle, Mokola, Ibadan.

Alhaji Adekilekun explained that women were special creations of God and wired to influence positive changes at home, community, workplace and the society at large. 

He enjoined them not to coexist in competition with their male counterparts but to prove their mettle in humility, supplication and fear of Allah to attain the desired change in the Society.

On her part, NASFAT Zonal Women Affairs Secretary, Oyo Zone One,  Alhaja Khadijat Busari, urged women to equip themselves to live as role models to their children and the people around them.

Alhaja Busari, sensitized the women to their innate abilities, saying they could attain any position desirable while advising women to imbibe virtues of probity, dedication to service and prudence in all their positions of service.

There is a need for the new administration both at the federal and state levels to give priority to digital education among youths.

National Youth Secretary, Nasrul‐Lahi‐il Fathi Society of Nigeria, NASFAT, Mr Kabir Raji made this known while speaking to newsmen on the activities of the organization’s youth conference holding in Ibadan.

Mr Raji who emphasized the importance of breaking away from old habits and patterns, particularly in the current fragile global economy said Nigerian youths should be able to compete favourably with their counterparts in developed countries, especially in the digital economy.

He also stressed the need for making computer systems available for students at public schools to allow them to grow along with the current trend of Information and Communication Technology, ICT, as it is obtainable in private schools.

Mr. Raji appealed to youths to support the policies of the government at all levels and think of how to make the nation a better place for all.

The Zonal Chairman of Nasrul-Lahi-Li Fathi, NASFAT, Oyo Zone One, Alhaji Bayo Azeez says the federal government should review policies that are causing more harm than good to the people for national growth.

Alhaji Azeez stated this at this year’s Ibadanland retreat with the theme “Towards Redefining and Meeting the Core Needs” held at the Ilaji Hotel and Resort, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The NASFAT chairman who made the assertion on the backdrop of the challenges Nigerians are facing in accessing the new naira notes and the prolonged fuel scarcity noted that government should promptly take action when its policy is felt negatively by the people they govern.

The cleric urged the people to always be patient with the government during challenging times as no man was infallible, while also stressing that people should draw nearer to God for solutions to problems.

He also urged the citizens not to choose leaders based solely on religion as the nation goes to the polls in a few weeks’ time.

In a remark, the chairman, organising committee of the retreat, Barrister Yakub Fadare said the programme was put together to reassess and reposition the faithful towards achieving the vision and mission of an ideal society.

One of the participants, who is also the spokesperson of NASFAT, Challenge, Ibadan and Deputy Director, Information and Communication Technology, ICT, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Ibadan Zonal Station, Alhaja Wasilat Salami noted that the retreat has further broadened her knowledge of Islam.

Alhaja Salami enjoined other participants not to take the knowledge gained from the retreat with levity.

An unidentified male adult died when two tankers caught fire and exploded last night on Ijebu Ode- Ibadan expressway.

The accident occurred in front of NASFAT, according to the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE.

The Public Relations Officer, TRACE, Mr. Babatunde Akinbiyi said eyewitness accounts indicated that the driver of the first tanker loaded with premium motor spirit popularly known as petrol, lost control while speeding, fell into a ditch, and caught fire.

Mr. Babatunde Akinbiyi explained that another tanker driver who saw the first vehicle on fire decided to help out, and in the process, his tanker also got engulfed by fire.

The TRACE spokesman said one person died in the inferno.

Mr Akinbiyi urged motorists to be careful around Ijebu Ode- Ibadan expressway or take alternative routes if they could.

Meanwhile, at the time of this report, operatives of TRACE, Federal Road Safety Corps, and policemen are on the ground monitoring the situation.

An Ondo based renowned Islamic Scholar, Shiekh Abdulrafiu Ajiboye-Lagbaji has cautioned people against actions or agitations that can threaten corporate existence of Nigeria.

Sheikh Lagbaji who gave the advice in Akure while delivering annual Ramadan Lecture of NASFAT Akure branch, said there were great benefits for Nigeria to remain as one country despite various challenges currently confronting the nation.

Speaking on a topic, “After Every Difficulty comes Relief”, the Scholar noted that the call for Yoruba nation was not the answer to the people’s problems but it would rather compound the suffering of the masses.

Sheikh Lagbaji enjoined Muslims to pray fervently in this holy month of Ramadan to enable them to overcome their individuals difficulties and for Nigeria to conquer her predicaments.

The Chairman of NASFAT Akure branch, Alhaji Sulaiman Bello said the annual ramadan lecture was organized to reawaken spiritual obligations of Muslims during this holy month of ramadan.

In a remark, the Ondo state Commissioner for Lands & Infrastructure, Alhaji Raimi Olayiwola-Aminu, urged nigerians to be more closer to God at this trying period.

The NASFAT Ramadan lecture was witnessed by the Chief Imam of Akureland, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Yayi-Akorede and the APC Acting Chairman in the state, Ade Adetimehin among other dignitaries.

The need to promote the use of hijab by Muslim women and peaceful coexistence among adherents of different religions formed the focus of a day rally and lecture to commemorate World Hijab Day in Ibadan.

The programme organised by Concerned Muslim Women in Oyo State had in attendance representatives of NASFAT, FOMWAN, MSSN, and the Oyo State Muslim Community.

In their separate remarks, the Zonal Women Affairs Secretary of NASFAT in Oyo State, Alhaja Aminat Ahmed and the state president of FOMWAN, Dr. Bushra Oloso said numerous benefits were associated with the use of hijab and appealed to corporate organizations and institutions to permit Muslim women to use the attire.

While speaking on the theme of this year’s Hijab Day, “Unity in Diversity”, Sister Augustina Offor from the Justice, Development, and Peace Commission, JDPC and a lecturer at the department of Arabic And Islamic Studies, University of Ibadan,  Dr. Abibat Oladosu said failure to embrace religious tolerance in Nigeria had given rise to conflict and underdevelopment.

Some of the participants at the rally, which commenced at Oje Market and terminated at Bashorun area of Ibadan include Ibadanland Women Affairs Secretary of NASFAT, Alhaja Taibat Adeyanju and head of ICT department, Radio Nigeria, Ibadan, Alhaja Wasilat Salami.
