A two day capacity training on the Management practices in the Post COVID-19 period for Head-teachers of Public Primary Schools and Principals of Public Junior Secondary Schools across Ogun State has been held as part of efforts to further flatten the curve of the pandemic in the State.

Addressing the participants in Abeokuta, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu said the training was necessary to remind the teachers on the need to remain safe.

Professor Arigbabu also explained that the training was put together to broaden the knowledge of school Managers and Stakeholders in Education sector to take preventive measures towards reducing the spread of coronavirus in schools. 

He announced that all public schools would continue to have their classes in phases to avoid overcrowding and help to contain the spread of the virus.

In a message to the occasion, Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker, who encouraged the participants to endeavor to get tested in bid to know their status said the pandemic was still spreading hence the need to abide by the safety guidelines.

Also, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo appreciated Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB for ensuring prompt and adequate monitoring school compliance on COVID-19 Protocols.

Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC representative and the Zonal Coordinator, South West Office, Abeokuta, Dr (Mrs.) Abidemi Oyedokun while commending Ogun SUBEB for organizing series of virtual trainings on effect of COVID-19 urged participants to ensure safety in schools. 

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Board Secretary, Ogun SUBEB, Mr. Wasiu Kuye said the present administration remain committed to qualitative, functional and technology-driven education for the people of Ogun State.
