Protest rocks LAUTECH

Workers union under the aegis of Joint Action Committee, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH Ogbomoso have staged a peaceful protest to drive home their demands.

The Unions involved are; SSANU, National Association of Academic Technology and Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities.

The union members in their numbers besieged the VC Lodge to register their demands.

Chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and JAC, LAUTECH, Muraina Aleshinloye and Secretary of JAC, Hamzat Fajoye said their demands included payment of eight months salary arrears, payment of thirteen months cooperative society deduction, balance of Sixty eight hours earned allowances, 2012/2013 promotion arrears and a call for creation of school’s governing council.

The Union who were unable to meet the Vice Chancellor who was said to be away from home vowed to continue the protest until the demands were met.

Effort to reach the registrar on telephone was abortive.
