In a landmark event held at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has appointed Kayode Adewale as the Ogun State Education Ambassador.
The recognition comes in light of Adewale’s nomination as one of the Top 50 Teachers globally by the Varkey Foundation, supported by UNESCO, for his extraordinary contributions to transforming lives and communities through education.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Abiodun lauded Adewale, a mathematics teacher at Imagbon/Imaka Comprehensive High School, for his unwavering commitment to educational excellence.


“As a state that prides itself on being the education capital of Nigeria, we are immensely proud to celebrate one of our own. Kayode Adewale has earned a place among the Top 50 teachers globally in the prestigious Global Teacher Prize. His innovative teaching methods and dedication to transforming education have brought local and international acclaim,” the governor said.
Kayode Adewale, a proud alumnus of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, has a history of remarkable achievements. In 2020, he was named the Best Teacher in the Senior Category in Ogun State. By 2023, he emerged as the second runner-up for the Best Teacher in Nigeria.
His focus and consistency have made a significant impact on the education sector, transforming the lives of countless students in Ogun State and beyond.
To honour his achievements, Governor Abiodun announced a series of rewards for Adewale. These include a bungalow in any part of Ogun State of his choice and a cash prize of ₦5,000,000.
The governor described these gestures as a way to inspire Adewale to continue his outstanding work and to encourage others in the education sector.
“Kayode Adewale’s story shows that with dedication and focus, there are no limits to what can be achieved. His contribution to the Ogun 517 Go-to-Space initiative and his relentless pursuit of educational excellence have earned him laurels internationally while positively impacting his locality,” Governor Abiodun added.
The governor also urged younger generations to emulate Adewale’s zeal and commitment, promising that his administration would continue to support initiatives that promote educational excellence in Ogun State.
As a native of Ago-Iwoye, in the Ijebu North Local Government Area, Kayode Adewale’s achievements underscore the rewards of hard work and dedication. His appointment as Ogun State Education Ambassador marks a new chapter in his career and highlights the government’s commitment to celebrating and empowering exceptional educators.
Prince Dapo Abiodun concluded by reaffirming his administration’s dedication to fostering excellence in education, stating, “There is indeed a reward for hard work.”
