Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has urged the traditional rulers in the state to support the current administration in the area of security for sustainable development.
He stated this while speaking at the official coronation and presentation of staff of office to Alaawe of Aawe, His Royal Majesty, Oba Cornelius Oladokun in Aawe.
Governor Makinde who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief Bayo Lawal while emphasizing that the traditional rulers play a crucial role in maintaining peace and stability in their respective domains necessary for the implementation of developmental projects and initiatives.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Ademola Ojo enjoined the Indigenes of the town to support the new monarch in the task of moving Aawe and the state forward.
In his acceptance speech, the Alaawe of Awe, His Royal Majesty, Oba Cornelius Oladokun promised to support the state government in bringing sustainable development to Aawe town and to cooperate with all other traditional rulers in the state for unity and progress.
