Osun state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke says his administration is open to joint action on irrigation Programmes with Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority to put an end to food insecurity in the state.

Governor Adeleke stated this while receiving the management of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority led by Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Adedeji Ashiru at the government house, Osogbo, Osun State.

The Governor who highlighted the critical role of quality assurance in infrastructure initiatives said the partnership is poised to bolster Osun’s ambitious infrastructure plans, particularly in the area of food security.

Earlier, the CEO of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Mr. Adedeji Ashiru had said the new collaborations, particularly for the irrigation initiatives involving local dams, signifies the state government’s proactive approach to resource management and the state’s commitment to leveraging its natural assets for agricultural advancement.

Mr. Ashiru added that the renewed collaboration promises to deepen the relationship between Osun State and the River Basin Authority, paving the way for joint actions that would benefit the region’s socio-economic landscape.
