Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, says the Imole Youth Corps, a youth empowerment scheme of his administration will soon be unveiled.

The Governor stated this at the Stakeholders meeting of the Osun state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, held at the Government House in Osogbo.

He also said that the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protest which started few days ago has ended in Osun after a government delegation met and addressed the protesters, promising that the demands would be submitted to the President.

The Governor assured that his government is working to deliver on its electoral promises to bring relief to our people.

“We Just paid bursary to students; We have disbursed almost 4 billion naira to cooperative bodies in Osun; We are building several roads and bridges; We Just paid almost 2 billion for half salaries and cooperative deductions; We are renovating health centres and educational facilities; We will soon announce the take-off of Imole Youth Corps; New teachers will soon be announced”, the Governor noted.

Governor Adeleke also appealed to party members to remain united and never allow issues among members to degenerate in breaking the unity of the party.

“We all know that this local government election is key for our 2026 governorship election. We must not allow personal interest to supercede the general interest of the party.

“We must ensure party discipline. We must abide by the decisions of the party leadership. That is the way to strengthen the party and enhance our chance to win elections”, the Governor added.

Earlier, speaking on the forthcoming local government elections, the Chairman of the party, Mr Sunday Bisi noted that there would be no imposition of candidates stressing the party would only release guidelines for each local government to go and elect candidates of their choice.

“I can assure you that our resolve as a party is to give a level playing ground to every member of the party who is interested in being either Chairman or Councillor.

Mr Bisi advised the members not to take issues within the party to social media pages adding that the party will begin to monitor and may sanction any party member who fails to comply.
