The bill for a Law to amend the Obas and Chiefs, Council of Obas and Traditional Council Laws of Ogun State, 2021 has been passed by the State House of Assembly.

The passage of the bill was consequent upon the presentation of a report of the Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs by the Vice Chairman, Mr Dickson Awolaja, who also moved for its adoption as amended and seconded by Mr Yusuf Sherif, before the unanimous decision of the whole house.

The House plenary, presided over by the Speaker, Mr Oludaisi Elemide at the Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta Assembly Complex also read and adopted the bill clause-by-clause while the motion for its third reading was moved by the Majority Leader Mr Yusuf Sheriff, seconded by the Minority Leader, Mr Adeleye Lukman and unanimously endorsed by the whole house through a voice vote.

The Clerk, Mr Sakiru Adebakin later read the bill for the third time and the Speaker, Mr Elemide subsequently directed that a clean copy should be forwarded to the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his assent.
