A Special Prayer and Church Thanksgiving have been observed today at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral to intercede for Akure community and residents of the Ondo State capital to continue to experience peaceful coexistence and prosper in their socio-economic activities.

The Prayer and Church Thanksgiving were used to round-off this year’s Akure Ulefunta festival that started two weeks ago.

Leading the prayers, the Catholic Bishop of Ondo Diocese, the Right Reverend Jude Arogundade described Akure as a very important town that accommodates all and sundry which must always enjoy the prayers of clergymen, residents and indigenes.

Bishop Arogundade urged Yoruba sons and daughters to always remember their parents and their native place of birth, noting that God would always be happy with those who work for the progress of their towns.

In a remark, the Deji of Akure kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Alaadelusi accompanied by his wives, Chiefs and other prominent natives of the town, urged religious bodies to continue with their fervently prayers for unprecedented progress and tranquility in the state capital.

Many indigenes, heads of government’s agencies operating in Akure kingdom including the General Manager, Radio Nigeria Positive FM, Mr. Tunde Abiodun among other dignitaries attended the Thanksgiving.
