Osun Court Remands Man for Molesting 5 year Old

An Osun Magistrate court sitting in Osogbo the state capital has ordered the remand of a 35 year old man Femi Michael over allegedly molesting minor. 

Police prosecutor, inspector Adeoye Kayode told the court that the accused person committed the offence on Sunday at about 8:00pm at Kolawole Street Esuyale compound Osogbo. 

He alleged that the offence committed by the accused person was contrary and punishable under section 249(D), 359 and 222 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol ll Law of Osun State 2020. 

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the offence.

Defence Counsel, Mr Emmanuel Nwoke applied for the bail of the accused person in most liberal term. 

However, the prosecutor opposed the bail application made by the Counsel on the ground that the victim was an infant adding that the pedophilia is rampant in the society.

In his ruling, the Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Ajala ordered the remand of the accused person in Ilesa correctional center

He thereby adjourned the matter till October 16th for ruling on bail the application.

Police Arrest 30 Year-Old for Molesting a 7 Year-Old Girl

A thirty year old man, Olorunniyi Esan Caleb has been arrested by the Ekiti State police Command for allegedly raping a seven year old girl.

The man allegedly raped the girl around Falana area of Ado-Ekiti in his room when there was nobody at home. 

The victim whose one of her parent is physically challenged was a neighbour of the suspect.

Confirming the arrest to Radio Nigeria on telephone, the spokesman for the command, Mr. Caleb Ikechukwu said the suspect had been locked up at the Ologede Police Station.

Mr. Ikechukwu noted that the victim had been taking to hospital for medical treatment.

He explained that the force would investigate the matter and prosecute the perpetrator.

The case was reported to the Ologede police station by the chairperson of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA, in Ekiti State, Mrs. Oluwaseyi Ojo before the police made the arrest.
