It was a celebration of life laced with impactfulness and accomplishments as family and friends joined the children of Pa Stephen Olaolu Laniyan to bid their patriarch farewell.

The funeral service held at Winners Chapel, Sanyo, Ibadan, was saturated with celebration mood as the choir stunned the congregants with melodious rendition elucidating the many parts of the deceased as an accomplished man, devout Christian and committed family man in his 79 years sojourn on earth after which his remains were interred at St. Luke Anglican Church Cemetery, Molete.

Pa Stephen Laniyan, a trained technician with the then Electricity Company of Nigeria which later metamorphosed to National Electric Power Authority, NEPA and Power Holding Company of Nigeria, where he served his postings at Kainji and Jeba, Niger State before he retired as Senior manager.

In a sermon entitled Celebration of Life, the Resident Pastor, Living Faith Church, Sanyo, Chris Kalejaiye, said human existence on earth was a passage, noting that none would remain without experiencing death to meet the creator to give account of stewardship.

He enjoined the congregants to mould themselves and live a Godly life to earn a place in heaven.

On her part, the daughter of the deceased, Mrs Olubusola Mathews said Pa Laniyan loved his family and did his best to put smile on their faces, saying he would be greatly missed.

Son of the deceased, Mr. Tunde Laniyan, described his father as a complete family man, disciplinarian and Peacemaker, eulogized him for being supportive to him and the siblings.
