The Osun State House of Assembly has assured residents that the present administration led by Senator Ademola Adeleke would ensure the ongoing Teachers Recruitment Process exercise is based on merit.

The Chairman, House Committee on Education, Alhaji Sikiru Bajepade gave the assurance when he led other members of the committee to inspect the ongoing Teachers recruitment Process exercise conducted across the State.

Alhaji Bajepade who apologized for the delay and hitches experienced in some centres explained that successful applicants would receive their appointment as soon as possible after the exercise is concluded.

He commended the governor for his efforts in ensuring that the standard in the education sector is restored.

In an interview, The Chairman, TESCOM, Osun State, Mr. Tope Musthapha said they are working towards attaining a seamless exercise.

In separate interviews with Radio Nigeria, A Cross section of Applicants, Mr. Tunde Adelani, Mrs Toyin Oyeyinka and Mrs Tawa Kilani who noted that the exercise started behind schedule expressed the hope that the outcome would be favourable.

The places visited included The Osun State University, Osogbo and Ibokun Computer Based Center, CBT centres in the Obokun Local Government area of the State.

Meanwhile, The Management of the Osun State University, Osogbo, in a press statement, has disclosed that its server was hacked by unknown criminals trying to disrupt the teachers’ recruitment test expected to be held for two days.

Recalled that, The Osun State Government during its Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday 3rd January this year approved the immediate recruitment of Five Thousand teachers and Two Hundred and Fifty education officers to fill vacancies in the state teaching service.

In a bid to ensure outstanding graduates, the Osun State House of Assembly, OSHA, wants the management of the Osun State University to sustain its efforts towards ensuring the institution conforms to international best practices.

The Chairman, House Committee on Education, Alhaji Sikiru Bajepade made the call when he led the team of other members of the committee on an oversight visit to the management of the institution, to assess the ongoing projects being executed.

Alhaji Bajepade lauded the management team of the Osun State University for its transparency and efforts aimed at making the institution notable amongst its peers across the nation.

He called on the state institutions to be more innovative, considering the present economic situation of the nation.

In separate contributions, other committee members, Engineer Abiola Awoyeye, Prince Adeyemi Adewumi and Mr Rasheed Bamidele gave kudos to Governor Adeleke and the institution’s ingenuity in maintaining its positive status quo, as no negative report about the institution has ever been presented before the OSHA.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Osun State University, Professor Clement Adebooye lauded the governor for usual financial support and the granting the management full autonomy to run its affairs without any political interference.

He stressed that the present administration in the state had contributed immensely towards the ongoing Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Anatomy Complex project, which is at almost 70% completion.

Professor Adebooye commended the House Committee on Education for its continuous positive support of the institution’s activities.
