Delta State Government has approved over three hundred million naira for the payment of bursary and scholarship to students for the 2019 academic session.

Delta State Commissioner for Information Mr. Charles Aniagwu stated this in Asaba, during a briefing with newsmen after the State Executive Council, SEC, meeting.

Mr. Aniagwu noted over twenty four thousand students applied for the scholarship and seventeen thousand made the final list after extensive screening.

The Commissioner observed the state executive also approved the recertification of cooperative societies operating in the state to keep tab of the genuine ones with whom the government would collaborate.

Also approved was a memo for the restructuring of the State Environment Policy to ensure a clean and healthy state. 

He added that a performance monitoring board has been established to monitor performance of ministries and agencies to check quality of programs and accountability in executing government policies.
