The Ekiti State Deputy Governor,  Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi has advised people of Epe Ekiti in Ijero Local Government to desist from actions that can lead to violence in the town.

Otunba Egbeyemi gave the advice in Ado-Ekiti at a peace meeting with kngmakers, youths and Prince Family of Epe Ekiti following a text message by unknown person threatening  to kill the kingmakers of the community if they failed to install their favourite as the next King of Epe Ekiti.

Describing the step as uncalled for, Otunba Egbeyemi warned that anyone caught fomenting trouble or indicted by the security report in the area would be made to face the wrath of law.

Otunba Egbeyemi who described Governor Kayode Fayemi as a peace loving individual, who would not tolerate anyone that could cause violence, emphasized that peace remained the only yardstick for meaningful growth in any community.

He charged them to cooperate with the Kingmakers in the process to enthrone a new King, adding that government would not allow anyone or group of people to impose their favourite at the detriment of the people, tradition and law guiding the Traditional stools.

Earlier, one of the parties in the crisis, Prince  Kolawole Arowolo, who claimed that he had intention to contest the vacant stool, said since Ife Oracle had selected somebody very closed to him as Oba Elect, he had no objection than to follow the majority in order to engender peace in the community.

Prince Arowolo expressed shock that his name mentioned was as part of those fomenting trouble in Epe Ekiti.

The Regent, Epe Ekiti, High Chief Olajide Dada who claimed that he also received the threat message, urged the people in the community to embrace peace and eschew actions that could promote violence.
