Osun state government will host the South West Oodua Festival, ODUAFEST between June 23rd – 25th, 2024.
The South-West Vice-President of the Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria, FTAN, Mr Tunde Kolade made this known during the stakeholders meeting at the Center for Black Culture in Osogbo, Osun State.
Mr Kolade who explained that all states in the Southwest would be in attendance, noted that this would improve tourism infrastructure and foster collaborations that would drive growth and development in Osun state.
He also said tourism investors were involved in the programme alongside relevant stakeholders and lovers of culture.
In his keynote address, the Chairman, Osun State Tourism Board, Mr Taiwo Adeleke, explained that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration stands out in promoting Yoruba culture among other states, which earned Osun the privilege of hosting the regional cultural event.
He urged all stakeholders to contribute and actively participate for the success of the festival, adding that exhibition of various dimension will hold during the three days programme.
Mr Adeleke further explained that The Oodua Festival would boost the development of the tourism sector in the state, as well as the rich traditions and customs of the yoruba people.
Earlier, the Osun State Tourism Board Coordinator, Mrs Oluwatoyin Ajayi appreciated Governor Ademola Adeleke for his support and approval and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi for the promotion and development of culture.
