Federal government is interfacing with traditional rulers to work out the modalities for improving security across the country.

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo announced this to newsmen in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, after a meeting with the Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Adetona as well as the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remo land Oba Babatunde Ajayi.

Vice president Yemi Osinbajo who was in the company of Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun said it was imperative for the government to engage traditional rulers as crucial agents in maintaining peace and security in their domains.

Professor Osinbajo stressed the need for integration between traditional institutions and community policing towards improving intelligence.

The Vice President gave the assurance that the federal government would continue to collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain high level of security in the country.

The vice president who pointed out that Nigeria had the potential to meet the needs of citizens advised the people Nigerians to work together in setting the country on the path of peace.
