Four hundred and forty women and youths in Osun East Senatorial District have benefited from the empowerment program organized by the National Directorate of Employment in collaboration with the Senator representing the area, Prince Adenigba Fadahunsi.

The program was segmented into equipping the beneficiaries with skills to establish cottage industries and disbursement of loan to micro business owners known as petty traders.

Addressing the beneficiaries during disbursement of the Micro-Enterprises Enhancement Scheme loan to the people, the Osun State Coordinator of National Directorate of Employment, Alhaji Ismael Abiola noted that the scheme was part of the Federal Government’s initiatives to reinvigorate the economy early this year before

In a remark, Senator Fadahunsi who was re-presented by Mr. John Adeyeluwo advised the beneficiaries  to use the money to support their capital base.

Two beneficiaries of the multi-million naira empowerment scheme, Mrs.

Wuraola Akani and Mrs. Julianah Adewale eulogised the senator, noting that it was rare to see a politician implementing empowerment programmes in such a manner.

Each of the trainees went home with twenty thousand naira while the petty traders got enhancement grant of ten thousand naira each.
