The National Directorate of Employment, NDE, wants the youths to acquire modern and innovative farming skills that will enable them to take advantage of the employment opportunities in the agricultural sector. 

Director General of the NDE, Mallam Abubakar Fikpo gave the advice in a message to the orientation programme for 100 beneficiaries of the Agency’s Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State. 

Mallam Fikpo who spoke through the Ogun State NDE Coordinator, Mrs Kehinde Oshinowo explained that scheme was designed to empower unemployed persons in the area of Agricultural production and distribution system for profitable farming.

Also, the Director Rural Employment Promotions in the Agency, Mr Edem Duke and the Programme Manager, Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme, Mrs Solape applauded the availability of loans and hybrid farm inputs to enable the beneficiaries to become successful Agripreneurs. 

The participants, drawn from the 3 Senatorial Districts of the State expressed appreciation to the government and urged the NDE to sustain the laudable programme.
