Oyo State Governor, Engineer nSeyi Makinde  has urged youths in the state to acquire vocational skills to tackle the challenges of  unemployment and make them productive citizens in the society

He gave the advice at a vocational training program organised by an entrepreneur in collaboration with the state government to mark the 2024 World Youth Skills Day held at Racecourse, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Governor Makinde who spoke through the Chairman, Oyo State Agency for Youths, Mr Falana Adebayo said the state government would not relent on its efforts at job creation to reduce unemployment rate among the teeming youth. 

Mr Falana stressed the need for youth after graduating from school, instead of seeking for white-collar jobs  to have one or two skills that would serve  as a foundation  for their financial strength.
