Osun state governor Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has presented staff of office and instrument of appointment to the new Owa of Igbajo, Oba Adegboyega Famodun, the 3rd.

Speaking at the event held at palace square, Igbajo, Governor Oyetola urged indigenes of Igbajo to support Oba Famodun to enable him to move the town forward.

He appreciated Osun state people for supporting his government just as the governor urged residents of the state to reciprocate the government’s gesture by performing their civic responsibilities. 

In his speech, Oba Famodun thanked the people for their support and craved more to ensure more progress for the town.

Earlier in an address,  the chairman of  Boluwaduro East Local Council Development Authority, Engineer Samson Awodiji noted that the new Owa of Igbajo had contributed significantly to the development of Osun state and Igbajo in particular. He called on indigenes of Igbajo to support Kabiyesi to move the town forward.

In a goodwill message, Special Adviser to Osun state governor on local government and Chieftaincy affairs, Evangelist Razaq Adeosun explained that the process for the selection of the new monarch was well supported and peaceful.

Oba Adegboyega Famodun was the immediate past chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Osun state before his election as the new Owa of Igbajo.

It would be recalled that the last Owa of Igbajo joined his ancestors on 23rd, December 2020.
