A Pregnant woman who was abducted by six unidentified gunmen on Christmas day at a community in Ijebu-Igbo,Ogun State has been rescued by the operatives of Ogun State Police Command.

Police Public Relations officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the rescue operation in a statement, said the expectant mother was kidnapped in the presence of her husband infront of their house.

The husband explained that the six armed men suddenly came out from the bush in front of the their house and kidnapped his wife.

The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State,Mr Abiodun Alamutu said the Command would not relent in its efforts to rid off criminals from the State and appreciated the collaborative efforts of other security agencies for the rescue.

The Commissioner however urged traditional rulers and community leaders to establish an internal security to barricade the entry and exit points to their communities; and provide necessary information to aid the security of lives and property.
