The Ondo State Government in its commitment to safeguarding the lives of its people has marked sixteen dilapidated structures in Akure to prevent incident of collapse buildings in the state.

To this effect, demolition and quit notices have been issued to the landlords and occupants of the houses located at Oyemekun Road, Gbogi street, lgboliki, Odi- Olowo, lsolo, Ijomu and Oba-Ile areas of the State capital.

During a monitoring exercise in Akure, the State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Prince Solagbade Amodeni, made it clear that lives of the people will not be put at risk, going by their ignorance of the grave danger of living or carrying out businesses in dilapidated and partially collapsed buildings.

While at the premises of a partially collapsed building at Continental Road, off NEPA Road in Akure, Prince Amodeni directed the enforcement squad of the ministry to issue a quit notice to occupants of the buildings and recommended the house for demolition after red-marking it.
