Governor -Elect of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde has criticized the outgoing government in the state on the planned negotiation with labour over the thirty thousand naira new national minimum wage.

In a statement by the spokesperson of the governor elect, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Engineer Makinde said he looked forward to a progressive relationship with the new NLC exco in Oyo State led by Comrade Titilola Sodo.

Engineer Makinde said nothing short of the interest of workers would be acceptable to his administration .

The statement queries the intention and sincerity of the outgoing government to open negotiation with labour on Monday exactly 30 days to its exit.

According to the statement, “there is nothing the current government wants to achieve other than to complicate things for the in-coming government”.

“The new NLC leadership is circumspect enough to understand the ongoing theatrics”, Engineer Makinde posited.
