Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Shina Olukolu has admonished the officers and men of the command to be more professional while discharging their duties, especially the newly promoted ones.

Mr Olukolu stated this while decorating the newly promoted officers from the rank of Superintendent to Chief Superintendent of Police at its headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan.

Mr Olukolu said though, the officers were working effectively but needed to put more efforts as promotion comes with higher responsibility.

He noted that the officers should be a good ambassador of the Nigeria Police by being civil instead of oppressing the public with their arms and ammunition.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, CSP Jeffrey Ella said the gesture would ginger them to work harder at bringing crime and criminality to the nearest minimum.

Meanwhile, the commissioner also paraded thirty four suspects for various offences ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, stealing and hijacking of loaded trucks.

Mr Olukolu said all the suspects were arrested through effective policing by the command and intelligence gathered by members of the public.

The police commissioner gave assurance that the command would continue its constitutional responsibility of protecting life and property of the citizenry.
