Five persons have been presumed killed in a multiple road crash that occurred around the construction site on the Sagamu corridor of Lagos Ibadan – Expressway.

The deceased, two males and three females, were among the eight occupants of the three vehicles involved in the crash.

Spokesman of State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, who made this known to newsmen in Abeokuta, attributed the accident to recklessness on the part of the bus driver, who reportedly died on the spot.

Mr Akinbiyi said the Space bus with registration number GGE 296 DC had allegedly engaged in wrongful overtaking before having a head-on collision with the Truck marked FST 340 XW and was sent under the fuel tanker by the force of the collision.

He pointed out that the motor boy traveling with the truck and 4 occupants of the bus, including the bus driver died from the crash while the injured truck driver was rushed to a private Hospital at Sagamu.

While condoling with the families of the deceased, the spokesman for the traffic management agency advised motorists to avoid reckless and wrongful over taking and maintain the 50 kilometers per hour speed limit around diversion and construction zones.
