A Don, Dr Ganiyu Okunnu has advised theater arts Practitioners to embrace the use of modern technology to enhance their works towards facilitating attitudinal change among Nigerians and enhance people’s trust in the practitioners.

Dr Okunnu of the Mass Communication Department, Crescent University Abeokuta gave the advice at a lecture  to commemorate the annual theater fiesta organised by the  Theater Arts and Motion pictures Practitioners Association of Nigerian,TAMPAN, in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital. 

Dr Okunnu who spoke on the theme, “Harnessing creativity and Innovation in Improving Socio- Economic Environment in the 21st Century” also called on government at all levels  to collaborate with the  association and other relevant agencies in promoting the rich cultural value of Yoruba race. 

National President of TAMPAN, Mr  Bolaji Amusan, popularly called Mr Latin, who acknowledged that theatre Arts practitioners represented the mirror of the society appealed to both federal and state governments to implement policies capable of attracting investors to the movie industry

Also, the TAMPAN Governor in Ogun State, Mr Owolabi Ajasa who expressed members readiness to be more creative in their works also urged the relevant authorities to open up more opportunities to boost the movie production business.

Highlights of the event included recognition of outstanding and supportive individuals as well as Songs, and Stage Drama competition among teams from Egba and Ijebu, Remo and Yewa Zones of the state
