Oyo state house of assembly has called on the executive arm in the state to gazette and publicize all laws passed by the assembly.

The call followed a motion on the urgent need to ensure regular gazetting and publicity of laws by the house brought by a lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North state constituency, Mrs Olawumi Oladeji.

Presenting the motion, Mrs Oladeji expressed disheartening that many of the house laws are alien to members of the public which was due to lack of publicity, hence making compliance difficult.

While commending the media for trying its best at reporting the activities of the assembly, the legislator said more needed to be done to sensitize an ordinary citizen.

Reading the house resolution, speaker, Oyo state house of assembly, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin urged the executive arm to ensure availability of logistics for the gazetting of laws while the ministry of information should bring legislative activities to public space especially at the grassroots.
