The member representing Obokun State Constituency, Honorable Adewunmi Adeyemi says the plan of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, OSIEC, to conduct local government elections come 15th October is not a moral decision.

Honourable Adeyemi stated this in Osogbo, in an interview with Gold FM.

“First of all the Osun State House of Assembly did not approve the election the State Assembly on passed a Bill concerning the election, that is the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission Bill 2020, it has passed the 3rd Reading that is the role the state House of Assembly played” Honorable Adeyemi

The lawmaker, who explained that Barrister Kanmi Ajibola’s case against the move of OSIEC to conduct the election was still in court, noted that the People’s Democratic Party, PDP will not participate in any form of illegality as a democratic organization.

“I look forward to a time when in Nigeria whereby our governance will be devoid of unnecessary Politics, and sentiments. Do you understand, it is the right of any Government to conduct an election, but looking at the circumstances surrounding this proposed election, You will understand that it is filled with a lot of sentiments “Honorable Adeyemi.

Responding to the six months old strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Honorable Adeyemi, who is also an educationist appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to accede to the demands of the lecturers in the best interest of students whose parents could only afford government-owned institutions.
