Every responsible government must make people’s demands the basis of its policies, programmes and implementation.
Osun State Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, stated this in a statement by his Chief press secretary, Mr Ismael Omipidan to congratulate the citizens on the 31st anniversary of the state’s creation.
Governor Oyetola pointed out that some of the reforms carried out by his administration were informed by the need to fulfil the yearning of the people.
The governor noted that having celebrated the 30th anniversary in a grand style last year, it was only reasonable for the government to make the 31st anniversary low-key.
He commended the founding fathers of the state including his predecessors for laying a solid foundation upon which successive administrations had continued to build.
Mr Oyetola stressed that his administration had kept faith in the vision of the founding fathers to sustainably build Osun as the state of the virtuous.
The Governor further reiterated that his administration’s commitment to building a truly-diversified and resilient Osun economy remained on course, adding that such a policy had become necessary to further expand access to other opportunities for the state’s teeming youths.
