Work has resumed in Ogun State after the Easter holidays declared by the federal government.

Radio Nigeria correspondent who visited the state and federal secretariats in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, reports that only a few workers are seen at their duty posts as of 8 a.m.

Some workers who spoke with Radio Nigeria on the condition of anonymity expressed gratitude to God for the grace to witness this year’s Easter celebration in peace and joy.

They said despite the challenge of scarcity of cash confronting the country, they were able to wine and dine with their families and appealed to the government to find a lasting solution to the challenge.

It was also observed that few shops and stalls had opened for businesses while banks and stores have commenced commercial activities.

In an interview, some traders including Mrs Kadijat Sadiq, Tolani Kalejaiye and Mr Sulaimon Ajani lamented that sales were poor during the Easter preparations and expressed optimism that things would be better after the celebration.

They urged relevant authorities to take proactive steps to alleviate the suffering in the country.
