Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command has arrested an alleged madman, David Shodola, for beheading an 84-year-old man, Elder Alfred Opadipe in Ipara community, Remo North Local Government Area of the state.
The police spokesman, Mrs Omotola Odutola confirmed the arrest of the suspect in a statement in Abeokuta.
Mrs Odutola said an attempt to arrest the suspect was fiercely resisted as he allegedly used the machete on the Divisional Police Officer and his men.
The police spokesman, who explained that the team succeeded in neutralizing the suspect and the weapon recovered from him, said there was account or record that the suspect was a madman, from the intelligence the police gathered.
