Unknown Gunmen Abducted a Nurse on Iwo/Ileogbo Road

Some unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted a nurse, identified as Mrs S. Ogunyinka.

Mrs Ogunyinka was said to have been abducted on Friday while she was returning from a farm along Iwo/Ileogbo Road in Osun State.

During the attack on the nurse, her husband, whose name could not be immediately confirmed, was reportedly shot by the abductors, before the wife was taken to an unknown destination.

She was said to be a staff nurse of the Primary Healthcare Department, Ola-Oluwa Local Government, Bode-Osi, Osun State.

A colleague of the victim who did not want to be identified told Radio Nigeria that the incident was immediately reported to the police.

He added that colleagues of the victims have embarked on fundraising to support her family, as the abductors were said to have initially demanded 20 million naira before the ransom was reduced to 10 million naira.

Efforts to get the reaction of the police were not successful as calls to the phone number of the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Osun State Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola were not responded to.
