Launching of a National Lifestyle Charter will prepare every Nigerian to know what is expected of them as members of the country.

The Director-General, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Dr. Lanre Issa-Onilu, who made the assertion during his advocacy tour and media engagement in Osun State attributed bad behaviours of Nigerians to lack of knowledge on good morality and generally acceptable societal values.

Dr. Issa-Onilu explained that the Agency designed the National Lifestyle Charter that involves Nigeria and the citizens in order to change the orientation of Nigerians thereby changing the way Nigeria is being portrayed in the comity of nations.

He maintained that the charter after being signed by President Bola Tinubu would ensure partnership between the country and the people on best way to live for Nigerian’s positive image.

Dr. Issa-Onilu assured that National Lifestyle Charter would be introduced into school curriculum from primary school level to tertiary institution so as to inculcate good morals into every Nigerians from childhood.

“When the National Lifestyle Charter is introduced as compulsory subject in schools, it will change the orientation of Nigerians right from their childhood. They will learn the social values.”

“The National Lifestyle Charter will inculcate values in children from childhood to adulthood and guide them properly on Nigerian values and public conduct”.

The Director-General who sought for community and societal support when he visited the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Olabomi at his palace, charged all and sundry to cooperate with the agency in its bid to restore societal values.

Earlier, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdulrosheed Olabomi had called for a law that would compel politicians, Public servants and teachers to register their children in public schools which he said would ensure better education sector.

“Government should make it mandatory for all political offices holders, civil servants, and others to make sure their children go to public schools, that way they will do the right thing.

“If a Permanent Secretary noticed the roof of his children classrooms is blown away, he will want to fix it or gather other people to fix it together.”

Oba Olabomi also appealed to Federal government to make laws to control use of social media which has led Nigerian youths to engage in immortality, Internet fraud and other social vices.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent, Funmi Adekoya-Ojo who was on the entourage reports that the NOA Director General in company of Osun state directorate led by the State Director, Mrs. Kikelomo Ahmed-Oyegbade, also visited the Osun State centre for Arts and Culture for collaboration.
