Excursion has the potential to sharpen students’ career focus

The Vice Principal, Adeola Goodwill Private School, Apete, Ibadan, Mr Seun Buyide stated this while leading students of the school on an excursion tour of Broadcasting House, Radio Nigeria, Dugbe, Ibadan.

Mr Buyide, who advised public and private school administrators in Nigeria to prioritize excursion for students, explained that exposing students to the practical aspects of classroom teachings would enable them to develop an interest in their field of specialization in future.

Speaking on the choice of Radio Nigeria for the excursion, Mr Buyide said Radio Nigeria is not only the first media station in Nigeria but possesses old and modern facilities, seasoned professionals blazing the trail of broadcast journalism in Nigeria.

Narrating their experience, two students of the school, Mr Wisdom Akani and Miss Favour Onyekachi said the excursion has been able to expose them to various processes and stages of news and programmes transmission from the live studio to the public.

The facilities visited by the students include the Reportorial Unit of News Department, library, recording and live studio, control room as well as broadcast gadgets used in news and programme transmission.
