Preparations for this year’s pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia by the intending pilgrims from Oyo State continue today at the State Hajj Camp in Olodo Ibadan as the intending pilgrims received traveling bags and other materials needed for the holy trip.

The intending pilgrims were also given Ankara textile to be worn as a uniform on their way to the Holy Land.

Presiding over the distribution of the necessities to the intending pilgrims, Chairman, State Pilgrims Welfare Board Muslim Wing, Professor Sayed H. A Malik admonished them to adhere strictly to the dos and don’ts of the Hajj exercise.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde is expected to bid the intending pilgrims from the state farewell on Wednesday 15th June 2022.

The farewell ceremony for those embarking on Hajj exercise from the state will hold at the State Hajj Camp in Olodo Ibadan.

The first batch of the state-contingent will depart Ibadan on Thursday 16th June 2022 for Lagos, where they will be airlifted to Saudi Arabia at 8 am on Friday 17th June 2022.

Professor Malik enjoined all the intending pilgrims from the state to make themselves available at the State Hajj Camp by Thursday morning.

About 779 Muslim Faithfuls are embarking on the Islamic Holy Pilgrimage from the state.
