The “Osun Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps Establishment Bill 2020” has scaled through the second reading on the floor of the Osun House of Assembly.

The Speaker of the House, Mr. Timothy Owoeye, said the suggestions, comments and recommendations of the stakeholders during the public hearing on the Bill would be imputed where necessary.

Mr. Owoeye said all the resolutions of Speakers at the Conference of Southwest Speakers held last Wednesday, to make the Bill stand the test of time, would also be infused into the Bill.

He said based on the turn-out of people during the public hearing on the Amotekun Establishment Bill, on Feb. 24, it was pertinent for the Assembly to give the Bill an accelerated hearing.

The House later dissolved into the “Committee of the Whole” where deliberations and errors in the clauses in the bill were amended and new suggestions included.

The Speaker after reporting the corrections made during the “Committee of the Whole” directed the Clerk of the House to produce a clean copy of the Bill tomorrow for the third reading and final passage of the Bill.
