Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has directed civil servants from level 13 and above to resume to work on Monday 27th of April.

Governor Makinde gave the order during a press briefing at the Agodi Government House, Ibadan.

He said only officials with separate offices would resume duty, adding that only one gate would be used as entrance and exit point at the State Secretariat.

Governor Makinde also placed a ban on all canteen in the Secretariat and proscribed visitors from the Secretariat premises.

In a similar vein, Governor Makinde also relaxed the dusk to dawn curfew in the state from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

According to him, the step would give farmers the opportunity to plant as the raining season begins to enhance food security after Covid-19. 

He equally disclosed that COVID-19 compliance guidelines would be provided for the markets in the state while only markets which meet up with the guidelines would be allowed to reopen.

On the one million facemasks policy of the government, Governor Makinde said the distribution of face masks to the public would commence next week, noting that palliatives to 90 thousand poorest households and 30 thousand vulnerable in the state were ready for distribution.

Earlier, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi had donated two motorized modular fumigators to the Oyo State Government.

Donating the items at the Government House Ibadan, Oba Adeyeye noted that the donation of the House of Oduduwa machine tools was aimed at complementing the efforts of government at all levels to control the spread of coronavirus in Nigeria.
