The Progressives Governors Forum, says it will intervene in the current crisis rocking the party in Edo and Ondo states ahead of the governorship elections in the states.

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja and signed by the chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) and governor of Kebbi state, Atiku Bagudu.

The statement says the governors have collectively agreed to work to strengthen the party and ensure fair, democratic and internal party mechanism for the selection of party candidates in all elections.

It indicates that the effort is to resolve possible crisis that may arise in future elections especially in respect of Edo and Ondo states 2020 Governorship elections.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC had affirmed the disqualification of the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki and two others who had earlier been disqualified by the party’s screening Committee.

Aside the statement issued after the meeting, a source close to one of the governors who attended the meeting said most of the APC governors were not happy with some of the decisions recently taken by the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led NWC.
