Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC has called on drivers to shun act of over speeding to reduce road crashes especially during the Ember Months.

FRSC, Corps Marshal, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi stated this in Ibadan during 2020 Ember Months Campaign organised by the corps on Oyo state with the theme “Drive safe, Stay Safe”

Dr. Oyeyemi who spoke through Zonal Commanding officer, Mr. Godwin Ogagaoghene said carrying more than required loads and passengers would always affect movement of vehicles which often led to loss of control and accident.

Dr. Oyeyemi stated further that phoning and texting while driving could also cause accident, hence the need for total concentration on the wheel to avoid losing of lives, especially during Ember Months.

The FRSC boss noted that park managers should not relent at providing covid-19 safety materials at their motor parks to collectively wage war against the virus.

Contributing, the FRSC Oyo State Sector Commander, Mrs Chukwurah called on road users to operate with the intent that road is a  shared path way which every users have rights to its usage.

Mrs Chukwurah therefore cautioned the drivers to operate with consciousness that only the living could celebrate.

Mrs Chukwurah called on drivers not to patronise quacks in applying for drivers license to avoid being duped.

Chairman, disciplinary committee pack managers in Oyo state, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, popularly called “Auxiliary” represented by  Alhaji Jimoh Tajudeen promised to abide by all road safety rules and regulations to collectively reduce crashes, especially during Ember Months

Alhaji Lamidi therefore called on federal government to come to their aids at reducing vehicle duties at at the Nigeria ports to make Thier profession easier.

Declaring, the event open, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state who spoke through deputy chief of staff, Mr. Olawale Mogbonjubola said the Government would not relent at contributing its own quota to FRSC to ensure reduction in road crashes.

Representatives of all security agencies in Oyo State were present at the event, promising their commitments to support FRSC in reducing road accidents.
