Remain diligent and committed to your duties – Ogun Gov
Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has advised officers of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, to be diligent and committed to the duty of managing the road traffic problems across the state.
The governor gave the advice while declaring open the annual TRACE Corps Commanders’ Conference in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Governor Abiodun urged the Corps to commence modalities for using the annual training conference as a basis for staff promotion.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Afolabi Salis, the governor advised the TRACE Corps officers to positively impact society in the course of carrying out their duties.
Ogun State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Gbenga Dairo while speaking, said the state would soon inaugurate a traffic management task force to assist in reducing road traffic problems across the state.
While addressing the gathering, TRACE Corps Commander, Mr. ‘Seni Ogunyemi said middle-level officers next in line of succession were being trained and retrained on human capital development to enhance professionalism and capacity building through the conference.
The Corps Commander explained that the annual gathering had become a platform to generate ideas and fashion out ways to resolve the perennial road traffic challenges and their consequences across Ogun State.
The conference with the theme, “Improving Road Safety through Technology-driven Road and Traffic Management”, was attended by representatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC and other state-based security outfits.
