Physically challenged children can be nurtured to become productive members of the society.

Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abdul-Raheem stated this at the graduation ceremony of a non-governmental organization, Christian Mission for the Deaf, Onireke, Ibadan. 

Represented by the Director, Special Education Department in the ministry, Mrs Oladeji Mobolaji, Barrister Abdul-Raheem said children with disabilities should not be neglected, urging parents to bring them forward to be educated. 

In an address of welcome, the principal of the mission, Mr. Johnson Olalekan, highlighted the impact the school had had on deaf students in their care.

In a speech, administrator of the NGO, Mr. Peter Obadare, said the mission of the school was to develop self-reliant physically challenged persons, and called on government for assistance in fulfilling the vision 

Highlight of the event was drama presentation, cultural dance and award of prizes.
