National Commander, Road Safety Information and Rescue, Mr Bamigboye Okanlawon says regard for traffic rules by the people as it affects the life of other road users will promote safety on Nigerians highways.

Mr Okanlawon made the remark at an Ember Month Road Safety Awareness Campaign at Federal Cooperatives College, Eleyele Ibadan.

He explained that respect for traffic rules was the best protection for road users of all categories, urging drivers, riders and pedestrians to be safety conscious to avoid loss of lives and property, especially during the ember months.

Mr Okanlawon noted that the organization embarked on the current awareness campaign as part of its objectives to achieve fifty percent reduction in road-related crashes, death and injury by year 2030.

He added that the event was also aimed at educating drivers and riders in compliance with road ethics and to remind road users of the effects of road crashes.
